Right on! Thanks A.G.! Here's the next question, what exactly is the difference in performance between the protected and the IMR?

I don't have the discharge charts handy for the batteries, but I'm sure you can find them on the ECF.

Protected batteries are good for more charge cycles than IMR.
They also have the chip to shut down the battery in case of a short.
Although most of us will use the IMR in a mechanical mod, the protected are probably safer to use.

Six of one, half dozen of the other really...

I ordered a black Vmod with two bf hybrid attys this evening! Now the long wait for it to get to my house begins. Which is battery is better to use with the Vmod, the AW 14500 or the AW IMR 14500?

In my honest opinion there isn't much difference between them I check voltage regularly and they drop off at about the same rate the only real difference is protected vs safe, protected can be charged in any li ion charger safe batteries you will want a charger with built in protection as not to over charge also it won't charge over discharged batteries. Price is the main difference AW IC's are about 2x as much as AW IMR's. Just some things to think about.

Down the rabbit hole..
Vegas Vape Fest anyone?

By the way --- for those into the technical stuff here's a couple of pics:

This is the new bushing:

And here's the pin:

showsthepinarea.jpg

And, here's something to help explain it all --

"To make the chassis more stable we had to take pressure off the plastic.
The cylinder was press-fit so if any cold spots or runs are in the plastic it can break as we now know happens.
On the top part of the chassis the tolerance was off more than I liked, so that was addressed.
Insted of press-fitting, the cylinder is now pinned.
Now it is solid as a rock, and the stress is of the plastic...problem solved.

The photos show the pin area on the inside of the chassi where the battery sits, and the other shows the bushing on the top to tighten up the gap."

Now, can someone tell me what a bushing is?

I'll be at Vegas VapeFest too...:)
I'm also going to VapeCon in Oct

Sorry all -- I moved the pictures of the new chassis to a new folder & they disappeared! OOPS. I fixed my original post, but it won't fix the others, so we'll just have those little Xes for posterity, I guess.

As you all know, I'm not the most technical sort --- but this "pinning" idea sounds pretty darn workable to me and this shrubbery stuff is making some sense too! (thanks for the definitions all)

I would say liquor store..... That does depend on the state though.... Here in Washington you can only get liquor in a liquor store... Beer and wine you can get anywhere...

Wine you can get at my home. Come by. We'll sip and vape.

I'm likin the looks of this feeder! Might have to pick one up!

Edit: Are there are major issues with this device i should know of? 100+ pages is too much to read... Also, compared to a reo how is the feed/performance? Is there any rattling noises? Sorry for all the questions!

Ken, the Vmod uses proprietary cartos & atties. Hairball has sucessfully modded cartos for it. Having had 5 reos, this does NOT rattle. Not one bit. I now have 4 Vmods. Vape comparisson on the 2 devices using the hybrid atty....reo is good though Rob is cautioning not to use them on his mods.....on the Vmod....FREAKING INCREDIBLE!!! The draw, the flavor, the vapor is IMO the bomb on the Vmod. They are a marriage the atty & feeding chamber unique to this mod.

There is an issue with the chassis which they have now fixed as well as other improvements. Unknown when the new ones sold will have the newly designed one, but very soon. Vapage is standing behind their product and will take care of their customers that have the original version.

Hope that helps.
