the atty is still good...if is a shorted conector what are my options here?

Jazzguy pretty much said more than I could have --- Call Vapage in the morning. Their number is on their site.

As the spring is ugly---don't mess with it.

I wouldn't use that atty either....even if it seems OK.

contact vapage.com. That's really your best option, you'll likely get the whole chassis replaced and will know it's all good.

Edited to add:

^^^^ what they said. Don't use that atomizer again. It may seem good to you, but it's best not to take chances. Atties are cheap, throw it away and use one you KNOW doesn't have any problems. SOMETHING shorted out, and the mod (at least the spring) is damaged. That's what warranties are for.

You can check resistance by setting the MM to that mode. You might have to 'zero' it out first, especially if your MM has a needle. You do that by touching the red and black probes together (in resistance mode) and adjusting it to zero (or just take that reading into consideration with your atty/carto reading). Touch the black probe to the threads and the red probe to the center pin and see what the reading is. Simple as that!

Oh, one more thing: even if it reads ok on the multimeter, you also need to closely inspect the insulator on the bottom. It's rare, but I have seen cases where it's torn, not seated right, etc. and the multimeter said it was okay, but once it was screwed into a connector (especially if it's too tight) it shorts itself out.

an adjustable draw drip tip.

A lot of the new bottom feeding attys are too "airy" for me so I made one I can adust the draw by turning the top disk in the tip.

Merry Me? ;)

kaykay, nothing much more to add, since we have such a great wealth of informed VMODians on this thread. I would call Vapage tho. I am not sure this is a home fix. If you have a collapsed spring, it sounds like it's time for a new one.

And (to all of you) pardon my public display of affection...

Kaykay have you tried to put the battery in without the atty ? I would guess you could trouble shoot for a short this way . If no problems without atty it would be the atty. Problems with atty in it would be the atty . I read somewhere in here someone's fill chamber rotated and came in contact with the upper spring . This I think would be the only way the vmod itself would have a short.

Hey guy's , I'm going through carto's like made . Wonder what' up with that ? In a month I have used 8 of them .

My silos are still going strong after 3 weeks...
When you say 'going through them'- What is your definition of not working: does it stop firing, low vapor production, bad taste, etc.....

I have an odd request, does anyone have a spare charger for 14500's? I ordered one a little over 2 weeks ago when I ordered everything else including the vmod, but later found out that it is coming from hong kong and it still hasn't arrived yet. My patience ran out a week ago and I am desperate! I will gladly pay for one if any of you have a spare.

EDIT: Got a pm from Brian saying that they have chargers for the 14500's in their warehouse already, I called and placed an order!
