Your mods Resistance is probably off. What is it set at in EScribe?
The mod's resistance? No idea. Apparently I need to learn quite a bit about the software, I didn't know it showed that anywhere or that it could be changed. I sure can't find that option. where do I look?

Once you open EScribe and load your profile, Hit Options, User Interface and then click Manufacturer. You should see 5 tabs to go through and one should be "Mod" once in that tab look for Mod Resistance.

Np! What is the Mod Resistance on your VT75 set too?? We could search for what most people are using and put it in to test..

Edit* Yeah, the latest version of EScribe got changed around a lot so you have to go through options before you can even customize it.. But under "Manufacturer" is how it should look so you can get to everything like the older versions. :)

Hmmm, so just went and grabbed it, checked it in escribe, it says 0. By the way, the 18650 tube needs to be a tighter fit, way too much rattle, but that's anudder discussion. I should buy a couple 26650's I suppose.
Really? 0 ? How about the box right under it "Ohm Lock Range" ?

Yea it's not a great fit. Just use the screw on the bottom of the cap to tighten it up and it will be fine.

Idk how its even doing TC set to 0..
Try changing it to 0.004 then hit upload settings to mod, leave the other box at 25%

Edit* If it still feels off try dropping it to 0.003 - 0.002, from what i googled those are estimates for that mod.

Manufacturers never test each board individually so just put in a Resistance around the same number as the rest..
My Lavabox DNA 200 came with it set at .007, I bought the Copper Plug tool and found it to be at .003 ..

    @kad2371

I just checked mine and it reads 0 as well. No problems with mine. I think that it is done by the manufacturer.

Mine came set to 0 as well. Funny thing is when I tried to change it, even a low 0.002 (don't have the copper plug and didn't want to take a deck and short it with a screwdriver, it was really off. For whatever reason, and it may be in the materials profiles it comes with, 0 seems to work best. For now.

And yes, I threw a 26650 in after I got it. I plan to in mod charge as the board is good for it and charges at 1A, so no fiddling with the battery cover. I kind of wanted an SMY 75 as well as the price was so good but it's always out of stock. The other thing I do like about the VT75 is you can put large mods on with no overhang. So far it's been a nice addition.

kad, you really have to get familiar with eScribe to get the most out of both those mods. It's not a terrible learning curve, and once you've got it down, you'll wish it was available for all your mods. Te other thing that's helpful is Device monitor. You can hook up both mods and see how they perform is real time. Here's an example of how TC on 316L worked on my DNA 200 Efusion duo. Before a recent patch, the 75 board actually worked better than the 200, but as you can see, it's now a smooth performer.
    Efusion Device Monitor.jpg

You can see the preheat and fall off in in wattage in green, the real time resistance of the oil under load in purple, and the the temp curve in red. As you see, the temp holds very well to what it's set for, in this case 450F and other than the preheat punch, is well below by wattage setting of 30W. My VT75 curves look identical (sorry, don't have an actual one to show, but honest, it really looks the same). The SMY 75 should look like this as well.

OK, just to show performance with the VT75, here's Device monitor. Tank is a Merlin with a 0.47 ohm 316L coil, same as the one used above. Same settings 450F, 30W, lower preheat punch though as it really doesn't need it with a simple single coil.

Again, power tops at 30, but only stays around 15W to maintain the temp of 450F. You can see how smooth the temp curve is here as well.

I'm running a Ni coil on my VT133 right now at 30W 450F, Very Steady, only needs to hit around 18Ws to keep temp... Love looking at it in Device Monitor... :thumb:

Oh yeah, SS TC use to be a PAIN to perfect on DNA 200's...

Well, idk the deal with yalls VT75's, the new 1.2SP update may have changed your values somehow. My SDNA 75 which ran great still had DJLSB settings in there, mod resistance at 0.0016. Case Analyzer values were very close as-well. His pre-loaded profile though was nothing but Kanthal and the rest was all SS 316 with just different TC Soft/Hard settings.

I think my SDNA 75W was an earlier release than most others as I saw different settings people uploaded right off them..

But once you learn EScribe as you said, you fall in love with it!!! :D
