im using bounty hunter in my new zap, with the wick it came with. its 400ss mesh, i rewraped the coil and reads @ 2.o vaping at 4.6. alot of vapor, but i swear the flavor was more prominent when using my carto tanks... maybe im doing something wrong..... vapor looks good, but lacking taste. whats up with that

as a person that makes all his own juice i may be able to shed some light on this subject for some peeps here.....one of the things is that most juices are made to taste the way they do in a carto, which we all know drowns out flavor. those of us diy freaks also know that too much flavor can mean no flavor in a juice(i know seems weird but it makes sense, it overloads your tastebuds). with how efficient genesis atties are they use a lot of juice, give off a lot of vapor, and in turn release a lot of flavor/nic in said vapor. all my diy juices had to be reworked to lower flavorings to get the same effect.

genesis devices are so dramatically more efficient than cartos that the juice needs to be made to match such a device. i hope this info was helpfull to those looking for an answer.

I am also a DIY maker. What percentages are you using? Do you use percentages in your calcs? I use the e-juicemeup app from Breatktru. I think I see what you are talking about. When I first started out, I was using 8 percent flavor, I have in the last couple months been trying things like 10 and 12 percent and I no longer get the Banana flavor I like from a long time ago. This would explain why.
I normally do a 60/40 PG/VG.

Don't get me wrong. It doesn't vape nearly as well as most of the videos I've seen, at least it doesn't put off the volume of vapor. But it's vaping well enough to where I'm no longer considering selling it. :)
This could mean a couple different things. It could boil down to the PG/VG percentage you are using, it could also be How you are vaping it. Since it has an airy draw, I find my normal way of just taking the vape into the mouth then inhaling does not work well with my Zap. I do straight into the lung inhales when dealing with the Zap. I take some very long inhales with the Zap where I do not do with a normal configuration. It is one of the reasons I lowered my Nic amount of my juice for the Zap. At this moment, I am not actually using a Nic at all in my Zap and it has not bothered me one bit, no urges.
It could also be you are not using a high enough voltage.

The PG/VG is a 50/50 blend. I vape it in the 3 o'clock position like I've read numerous times is the pretty much the best way to vape it. The coil comes in at about 2.0-2.1 so I'm running it as about 4.3V, seems like a decent middle ground. I'm sure it could handle it if I bumped it up a bit. I've never been a direct lung inhale guy. I mean I can do it without it really bothering me, just never cared for that style of vaping. But then again I haven't tried it with the ZAP yet. :) I'm still not madly in love with my ZAP yet. But like I said, I'm longer considering selling it. Yet. :p

Drew, I would agree with you. I have other genesis devices that will put my ZAP to shame in both the amount of vapor, and the amount of time it takes to make that amount of vapor. I've tried both the pre-made Zen wicks, and removed the zensulator and made my own fat wick also. It's better with a home made wick, but still just meh IMHO.

w/o the insulator - what size piece of SS did you start with to make a 'fat' wick?

I've been tempted to try my luck in trading it for a Hellfire. But I haven't read enough about them to know if I'd like them more. Any other RBA's you could recommend?

I agree, but it's a little silly considering people sport banners from various vendors in their sig while posting in a vendor's thread all the time around here. ;)

True but it's part of the forums to have your own sig no matter what it is. And there is an unwritten rule about not jacking a vendors thread for another vendor.
