yeah, its not looking good for nov 9th, Mike had his power out for a very long period of time which means i doubt he was able to get any work done, and wasnt even able to post on the forum. im hoping *crosses fingers* that his priority will be shipping out the other stuff before he gets to the ZAP's (i really want a SW) but he just got his power back about a day ago and those wont even be available untill late next week. I really wish he would just save me the time and ship the SW right to my house

anyways, im guessing the ZAP's will get shipped after everything else, or w/ everything else if they are all ready but the frankenstorm almost definitely caused a delay for any zen devices.

What is an SW?

Well,... I'm hoping *crosses fingers* that his priority will be shipping out the ZAP's before he gets to the other stuff (I really want a ZAP)

:D

But ya, the ZAP's date has already been pushed back one month, so I don't feel bad saying that.

I've been vaping with the stock setup for almost a month and was kinda getting disappointed with it. Its' airy draw sort of muted the flavors and produced a cloud which I had to work at. Fast draw at high voltage, slower draw at lower voltage till I got fed up. After rebuilding the setup I am quite pleased with it. Big clouds with my normal way of draw. Bigger clouds than my carto/tank setup. Love the airy draw now, it's less work to get a big cloud. Finally I am happy with the ZAP. What did I do? I doubled wrapped the wick. Took a new wick and wrapped it around the old wick. At first I tried it without the insulator. The cap got hot, which it never did before and it started gurgling from the air hole. Apparently juice was getting through the wick hole because there's no cap for the fill hole. So back on with the insulator. No hot cap and no gurgling. It vapes excellent now. 2.2 ohms at 5.2 volts with 70% PG juice.

Looks like we have to wait for 12/15/2012 for a ZAP now. :(

Nah, that's not cool. I've been waiting, not buying other products because I wanted to keep my business with provape. I know provape would love to have them in right now, but things have prevented that from happening, but I can't wait anymore. I'm going elsewhere sorry guys

The thing is that mike is just one dude whos got a full time job, hes not the vape god or anythig like that and he makes this stuff in his workshop, and when he does he takes his time to make sure that its a quality product. Obviously w/out power for 2 weeks he cant get into his workshop to get them ready, plus he has other commitments to *another vendor* for the ss zens sidewinder and cobalt that he has to take care of first before he starts building the zaps.

Obviously i would have LOVED to get both of my ZAP's from provape, they are an awesome company who has never done me wrong and i will support them however i can, but due to my work schedule its hard for me and i missed the first sale due to work, so i picked one up from a friend at vapercon, and when my gf wanted one for her bday on monday, i knew that provape wouldnt have them on the 9th because of mikes power issues, so i picked one up for her on the classies. The point is there are other ways to get these, although, if i hadnt known what i did about mike being w/out power and decided to wait for the 9th to get one for my gf, i would have been w/out a bday gift for her on monday the 12th, so thats not cool.

You guys are acting like he makes these in his back yard tool shed. I could have sworn I heard him say in an interview that he has a place that makes these for him. He provides the specs and the tool place turns them out for him. I understand I do not know first hand from speaking with him that I could be wrong but I am sure he does not make these by hand. I can understand that once they are drilled out he makes final preps on them but he isn't making them himself is he?

im not sure, all i know is that he just got a new property, with a new workshop and also he got a new machine. I know that he does have some of the bare SS parts done from a machine shop, but i beleive they are delivered to him and then he still has to assemble/finish the parts once they get to him. Although now w/ his new machine he might not have to outsource it to a shop (kind of like faceless does) but im not completely sure, you could be right. Im pretty sure that he can do the aluminum stuff w/ his new machine and i think he does the anodising too(?).

Also from what i understand he never gave provape an exact date, which is why i dont get the dates they have put up, i was told he just said, "if everything goes right, about *blank* weeks/months" but w/ the frankenstorm, vapercon and the revisions to the SW obviously everything isnt going right. just remember that although he makes an awesome product, hes just one dude, thats all really.

i have good news for anyone who wants a zap; mike has some other things to take care of at the moment, but plans on in the very near future doing about ~200 zaps a week after he takes care of everything, in order to make these as easily accessible as possible. So for anyone who wants one, just be patient and you WILL get one, they are all that, IMO the combination of the 'vari mini/zap is one of the best looking/performing APV's out there, the only thing that is on par w/ it is a bored out airhole cobra/'vari mini, which IMO is good, just the ZAP looks better and gives a bit more vapor. Hopefully that is some much needed good news around here

also, if you dont feel like waiting and want a zenesis/SW/Cobalt instead, those are shipped out and you will be able to get one in the next few days.... im super excited about that.

He doesn't do the anodizing. He sources that out and from what I understand, has had a lot of problems getting them to do anodizing that meets his standards.

ok thats right, I remember that now, there were some cobalts he was letting go for SUPER cheap ~179 because of "problems w/ the anodising" (they looked absolutely beutiful to me)

We just found out yesterday that mike had the roof literally blown off of his workshop by the hurricane and the insurance refuse to pay for it, poor guy, (lost power for 2 weeks, destroyed workshop, talk about bad luck  ) but he has sent out the zens that are already finished. He probably needs to fix his workshop before starting the zaps but in the near future i heard he plans to try and make about ~200 or so of them a week to make them as available as possible. So be patient and one can be had.

And my biggest problem is not finding a ZAP, Seems rather small compared to Mikes situation.
Mike best wishes in the recovery effort for both are sakes and everyone else too I suppose:vapor:
