Things I have learned while using the 808

Im the kind of person who likes figuring out things myself and I hope by me posting this, I will help others out also.

1. I have noticed after washing out a used cartomizer, upon drying, the inner tube "wick" will shrink slightly, So I feel like it may be best to keep them wet and just keep dripping liquid inside of it. If it shrinks up, it will become harder to take a drag.

2. Its good to have multiple batteries.

3. Do not drop your auto batteries. It could cause the liquid to splash up into the battery. If this happens *it happened to me* take a paper towel and roll it up into a little spike and stick it inside of the battery to remove the liquid. Keep repeating until there is no more liquid on the paper towel spike. Be sure not to activate your battery or you may cause it to short out. After cleaning it, you may want to sit it aside for a day to let any remainder liquid dry or just keep trying to wick out the remainder.

4. Red bull flavored liquid tastes nothing like redbull but actually rockstar energy drink *slightly cherry

5. If you keep your cartomizer wet and topped off it will not burn for a while. I've been using the same one for about 2 weeks straight now. But sometimes I think there are cartomizers that are better than others even if its form the same pack. Ive had ones with more and less filler and also different metal wire positions. I guess sometimes you just get lucky and get one with the ideal conditions for a long lasting cartomizer.

6 Video - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting whenever my cart is gurgling, I do this and it fixes it. It lines up the inside and also removes excess liquid from the inner wick. Do not force it through though, just wiggle it around until you feel it gently falling into place.

7. Sometimes if you have a weird taste that is not quite a burned flavor, try blowing out your cartomizer onto a paper towel with a few puffs of air. If the liquid is darker than it was when you put it in there, that could be the problem. just blow it all out and start over.

8. A good way to smoke it to get the maximum flavor to me is by inhaling it with the lips slightly open allowing air to flow in your mouth with the vapor. I have noticed when I do this, the flavor gets very strong.

Hubby has figured out that you can remove the filler,

wash it out, pat it dry,

then wrap around a drinking straw, put the straw inside the cart and slowly slide it back in.

(If you stop by a fast food joint and get a bigger straw, you could put that over the regular sized straw to help push it back in.)

I'm thinking of, if this one I've been using for 2 days now ever tries to wimp out on me, removing the filling and throwing them in the jewelry cleaner with some vodka, then laying them out to dry just like I did with my 901 attys.

Also I would like to add if you are new and are unsure of what flavors to get. I can almost promise that you will love. RY4(sweet caramel tobacco with a hint of vanilla), Coffee Espresso(Like sucking on a bag of freshly ground coffee lol ), and Red Bull(more like a cherry slush puppy) all available from Rob at Good-Prophets.

You're probably right. I wouldn't vape it, but I wasn't clear. I use a sonic jewelry cleaning device and fill it with vodka for the cleaner solution.

Got a few from Hubby at first, but he's used to me using up the vodka now. Even bought me some everclear just for atty cleaning

JUST for battery cleaning huh? suuuuuure, lol. Glad I was able to provide some helpful information to everyone! Also, everyone remember, if you blow out your cartridge when it starts to taste a little off and refill it and keep it topped off they will last for a very long time. Still going on my first 5 pack.

thx for the tips thunderbolt. i've tried just a couple cartos since i got a pack in dec. the juice that i blow out looks like dark tea compared to what i put in there, so i still haven't gotten the hang of it. i've destroyed a couple of them screwing around with their innards, but i'm making progress.

i've found that when the draw is just too hard or very little vapor, if i do a blow back from the battery end it seems to clear it. the first time i did that was actually the first time i thought, 'oh now i see what ppl are talking about. these are nice!'

i just bought a full 808d1 kit to try so i plan to keep at it. plus the batteries are true 3.7v so i'll enjoy them on my RN4075 atties

quick question - vaping on them exclusively today and filling them with a needle bottle down through to the bottom of the filler, when i think they might be getting low on juice by the way they vape, the top of the filler looks bone dry, but it only takes about 7 drops and it's swimming in fluid again.

what's up with that? crappy filler? i've had a few with burnt filler and i assume the dark liquid that i blow out is from burnt filler, so i want to avoid that so i can wash and refill them.

love the sizzle on these things. no guessing whether you have battery contact or not

I am new to the 808 cartos and loving them. I like the condom method of refilling them. I just put the juice in the condom, insert and push down from the battery end and they fill up. Easy breazy!

Now, to make this even better, I fill from the battery end, and then flip it over and fill from the mouth end too. I am really topping off, with about a 1/2 condom of liquid.

Sometimes I get the gurgling sound and I either blow out of either end, or I just wait for the liquid to saturate, or I stick a rolled up tissue (make it like a toothpick) into the mouth end to suck up the excess juice.
Still using the same 2 cartos I got a week ago.

Just figured out #6 on my own. Great tip, I notice that sometimes when I blow on the cart after cleaning it this tube kinda gets damaged so the airflow isnt good anymore. I stucka pin in it and voila, opened right back up.

red bull is pretty good...another thing is that the pre-filled cartos almost never have the same amount of flavor as the e-liquid...IMO....

Thanks everyone @ Juicefreak, try sticking the cap over the battery end and hold it in your hand and swing your arm around so you push the liquid closer to the battery end then you'll see it soaked up the juice. That's what I do. I guess you just have to get the right amount of drops in it. its usually around 15 by spinning it like that.


I donno, First puff form an e cig was with a Marlboro flavor cart and it was pretty nice! I guess I just got lucky?

another thing is it might be a good idea to stock a few different flavors. Im getting burned out on redbull (cherry slushpuppy) at the moment :-/ I dont know why. I really want to get some coffee next.

Things I learned:

The condom method of refilling is the best (at least for the first 4-5 refills). Unplugging the stopper is a PITA and unnecessary.

Use 2 batteries that are easily distinguishable, like 1 white and 1 black(that way when one battery dies you will know which one is dead)

Orange Liquid goes well with any tobacco flavored liquid(no need to clean out cartos when switching between Orange and Tobacco flavored fluids)
