That is a link to my first post on ECF. I was wrong about everything.:)

I am currently spending ~ 65 a month for tobacco supplies. I would like to start off spending less than 2 months worth on E-cig equipment. So to start out with a kit and liquid valued at ~$130. Silly, Silly Silly - I have clicked more 'Complete Order' buttons in the past two months then in my past life.

Smallish footprint. What was I thinking - the bigger the better!
No liquid showing - perhaps just a sight glass. IBTanked is my topper of choice - love it.
Fair battery life. USB charging appears to be a nice option.Whatever....
Fits in a pocket - front shirt or rear pant.I dont care now if I have to use a wheel barrow to haul my PV around.
Somewhat easy to maintain – I have no problem stocking replacement parts. I absolutely do not want or need another hobby. Funt to me now - I have now found the Hobby that I have searched for my entire life.

So, yeah, wrong about a lot of stuff, mainly my fist post I suppose as I wouldn't change anything I have done on my journey.:vapor:

Thanks OP I feel better now...

I was wrong about a lot of things regarding vaping.

For instance, I thought I'd gag and choke on the vapor from a Ego, just like the cigalikes I got from the local convenience store. I was dead wrong about that.

I never thought I'd end up with a mod. Now, I'm tooting on my MVP1 while I'm typing this post.

I didn't know juice could be made fresh and had to be steeped. When I first vaped the juices I got from MBV, they tasted like soap, so I put them aside for the pre-steeped juices I got from the local tobacco shop that also sold 10ml juices. A couple of weeks after I set my MBV East Coast Tobacco aside, I gave it another whirl and found the taste to be very good. Now I know that if I want my ADV, I have to put in my order about 2 weeks before my juice runs out or else I won't get the taste I want.

I didn't think I had to drink more water while vaping; I never before heard of "vaper's tongue." Whoda thunk that I would end up drinking water to the point that I have to have a large water glass that has to remain full?

I never thought vaping would become a hobby to the point of an obsession. All I do now is surf vaping sites to see which mod and tank I want to buy next.

I would like to try DIY, but the nicotine part is what scares me. How do you know how much you need to dilute it? Not really sure what to buy, in what ratio? I would like to try just making a couple flavors nothing major.

There's a calculator on here in the DIY section called ejuicemeup that allows you to input your ingredients, flavors, nic level, etc and spits out the recipe for you.

For example, you start by telling it what you want the end result to be: 10ml @ 50/50 w/18mg nic.

Then you input your nic concentrate. For me I use the 60mg concentrate

Then you tell it how many flavors you're using, if they're pg or vg, and the percentage of flavoring you're adding. For me, mine are all PG and around 2%

Then hit calculate and it will tell you:

How many ml of PG
How many ml of VG
How many ml of Nic
How many ml of flavoring

It's really simple to use, and there are a ton of people there to help. I just started it myself and it's a lot easier than you think. I wouldn't try to clone boba's bounty to start with but simple flavors (like I use) are easy. The biggest variables tend to be how much flavor you prefer, and how long to steep.

It's actually pretty easy if you start out slowly and error on the side of caution. For example, if you normally vape something at 50%vg/50%pg at 18mg nic, then just get 100ml of PG with 36 mil of nic. Now add it to 100ml of vg% (no nic) and you'll have 200ml of 18mg nic fluid. To that, you add your flavor, start out with 20ml of flavor and if you need more, add more, another 10ml. Now you'll have 230ml of fluid at a little less than 18mg nic. Cut it all by 1/10th to make smaller bottles.

Adamantly telling a store owner who mentioned "we don't do wicks" that my aspire BDC didn't have wicks. "SEE!?!?! NO WICKS!!!"

Kanger coils taste like burning tire for first couple hours (didn't know you had to steep/prime them). Have a pack of coils on the way for round 2

Dairy and Baked goods are the best eflavors - wait they still are!!!

Well... I don't think I will ever get a Mod or anything else to complicated. I guess we will just have to see what the next couple of months have in store for me. :)

We all said that at one time. It was a more innocent time. A simpler time. Then you'll turn around and have 6 of them - not because you need them, but because you bought that 6 mod holder and it looks silly and incomplete with only 2 mods in it. And the vape in those mods will be awesome! Life changing! But then one day, you'll try your simple ego and protank/vivi/or CE4 set up and rediscover its still pretty good! Once you get a mod and compare it to an ego, it's like comparing Truffle or Cajon fries to regular french fries. Truffle or Cajon fries are better no doubt, but regular french fries - still pretty damn good, just not as rich or as fancy as the others.

In no particular order:

Was a lifelong menthol smoker. Thought I'd be a lifelong menthol vaper. Not. Now I vape fruits, drinks, the occasional dessert, AND menthols. Variety is the spice of vaping.

Never thought I'd be a tweeter. Now I is one, to tweet the Daily Action Plan and join in vaping twitterbombs and indulge in all things #ecigs. Never wanted to be on facebook. Now I use my account to log in and comment on ecig articles.

Never thought I'd find a home in an online forum.

Never thought I'd become a vaping activist.

Never thought I'd be interested in dry burning or rewicking coils, or rebuilding coils. After all, they're inexpensive and easy to replace. Now I've done the former and am preparing to do the latter. It's a challenge and very satisfying.

Thought there was nothing wrong with leaving batteries charging overnight. Baditude et al set me right about that!

Thought that 18mg, which satisfied me when I switched, would always satisfy me. Now I vape 6, 12, 18, and 24, depending.

Never thought mere curiosity about a "new" technology would lead me to learn so much about biology, medicine, chemistry, research methodology, politics, media, fanaticism and corruption.

I thought that in nearly five years of reading this forum every day, I had seen every topic done twice over...
But this is a topic I have never seen before, and it is quite possibly the best thread EVAR!!
:)

Also, some other things I was wrong about...

--I thought the government was at least TRYING to do the right thing most of the time
--I thought the "non-profit" health agencies were honest and sincere
--I thought the media at least TRIED to get things right

My wakeup call on those three items has been more of a slap in the face.

I'm wouldn't say I was wrong about this, but the same reaction surprised me a lot! I started with menthol, went to cherry, then to hot cinnamon and Horcheta and now vape mostly fruit mixes. I still add menthol to things but it never dawned on me that I'd be so drawn to fruit flavored vapes since I really liked menthol cigs.

1. Thought I would never want a box mod (My Mvp is now my everyday device)
2. Didn't think it would be a hobby (My wallet would have really liked that to be true)
3. Thought I hated Menthol (MBV's candy cane is now a staple so I can add menthol to any flavor)
4. And most importantly thought my non smoking husband not to understand my obsession with vaping (not only is he my biggest cheerleader, but he now has his own stash of 0mg juices so we can share a hobby :D)

1. I thought I would never own a ProVari...I have two.
2. I thought I would never own an MVP2 because I don't like box mods...I have two.
3. I thought that there was no difference between a Sigelei and a ProVari.
4. I thought that the E-LVT was industructable and would be an MVP2 killer.
5. I thought that the Mini ProTank 2 was the best vaping juice delivery system possible.
6. I thought that I'd never be able to rebuild an RBA head and that it would take way too much effort.
7. I thought that our public officials were actually interested in promoting public health rather than replacing lost income from reduction in Tobacco sales.
