Things smokers say to vapers..

The other day I was at work. I needed to change a keg. (I'm a bartender) I have a hallway behind my bar where I go to the fridges, kitchen, ect. I always try to take my PV with me, when I go back there. Good spot to grab a hit. Anyways a server was walking by me and said, "those are bad for you!" My response, "oh yeah.. Tell me how?" He then stated that there was 2 deaths from them. That they cause pneumonia.. "I don't think so, but I'll check it out. Funny thing is 10min later he asked if he can go for a smoke break. E-cigs are bad for me?? You might want to think about what your putting in your mouth before you come give me advise on how vaping is bad..

Yea i always like to ask where they got their information, then after they say some random reference i pull out my phone in front of them and google it... Thats when they start saying "oh well actually my friend had said he saw it somewhere." im a jerk when i know people are lying to me tho and technology gives me more leverage now a days.

Unfortunately these rumors are far from frivolous.
They are actually calculated, and unfortunately, quite effective.

I'm pretty sure this "pneumonia" garbage may have something to do with this...

If you want to mess with him, just when he goes out to smoke a cigarette say " oh i reasearched it and there is no evidence that vape causes pnemonia or death, but while i was researching that,i came across the CDC page it said that cigarettes cause 480 thousand deaths per year and 49,000 by second hand smoke in the US alone. Enjoy your smoke, bro."

He saw it on the internet. It MUST be true. How many vapers are there today? There would have to be more problems, if those rumors were true. It would also be all over the main stream headlines and in the news paper front page.

I've had one while puffing away on a cigarette engage me in conversation about my PV and then tell me that he was going to check on me in about 3 years or so to see if I've grown any extra bits like a 6th toe or third nipple. I'm ashamed to say that I wasn't in the best of moods at the time, and told him if he was still alive from smoking his cigarette, he could come look me up.

I have lost count of the times that smokers walk up to me and say, "Hey, where did you get that hookah", or "Is there, or can you put weed in that?" The reply is e-cig (water vapor, etc.) and no and no. Of course I want to follow my remarks with "you ......". But alas, I am cool.

I tell them about it and let them try it and they really enjoy the taste. I admit this is my new addiction and I breath better than I did when I was smoking. I have kicked a 28 year smoking habit and become a chain vaper..

I had more of these conversations when I was first starting out. Now, I simply say that I've been off of cigarettes for 1.5 years and that gets their attention and I gain instant credibility.
