Been thinking about it for a while now. I've gone a few days several times without a vape and it doesn't seem to be a problem. I'm just vaping because I enjoy it not because I need to. Not sure thats the right reason ??

Plus the adoption of our 1 and 4 year old grandchildren will be complete the first week of January. They see me vaping all the time and even though its safer than smoking IMO it still sets a bad example. And its pretty hard to explain to a 4 year old the difference between the two. I don't worry about the nicotine but I worry I might plant the seed that inhaling and exhaling what clearly looks like smoke might be OK ??

Maybe its time tone it down a bunch .... sell a few REOs and keep a couple for an occasional vape now and then ??
Treat it more like a cigar and enjoy it a bit a few evenings after the kids are asleep.

It might be time to get back to some of my other hobbies and not eat breath and sleep vaping.

I don't know, gonna mull it over a few more days. But there could be some nice REOs up for sale the first of the year.

It will be hard, I've been involved with a lot of online communities surrounding several hobbies and the vaping community is really amazing. REOnauts are at the top of the vape community IMO. The amazing ethics and goodwill starts right at the top with our leader Mr. Robert O'neil and trickles right down through Lisa, Wayne and the dozens of other regulars here that are so quick to help out anyone with questions or troubles. I like to consider myself a helping/giving type of person but I am bested by many of you.

It seems like doing something just because you enjoy it is kind of selfish if theres even a remote chance it might adversely effect the loved ones around me now or in the future.

Well thats what I got, what do you think?

I have been there and did it for about 4 months and I felt fine. But certain stress and a loss of a family member had happened. It had me almost buying some cigarettes but a REO Woodville given to me showed up in the mail free from Rob and saved me. My point is...quiting vaping is fine but save a REO just in case. You don't need to use it but great to have around. :)

That would be quite a decision Tim.
I applaud your ability to look at vaping from many angles.
I feel it is a decision that must be made with many determining factors in mind.
Everyone that vapes will one day look at it and ask these questions of themselves. Your time is here.
Either way, the possibility of not vaping is a attainable goal if that is our decision.

I wish you the best as you strive to do what is best for your life.
Sometimes a small step in that direction will get us to the same place.
Keep that in mind as you travel down the path of your choice!

As cool as vaping is, especially with great gear like the REOs, it is still a chemical habit and a mechanical dependency. If you have the ability to walk away from it entirely, that's even cooler. Being free of addictions and dependencies is living to the fullest.

If you can quit, you should embrace the freedom and run with it. The impact on your family is beneficial, but secondary to the mastery of your own domain.

Hi Tim :)
You are never bested, my friend...your input has been highly valuable for so many, myself included. Don't ever think otherwise.

Regardless of your reasons, I think it is a wonderful thing if you can walk away from a habit no matter how much better it is for you than the old habit. I totally support your quitting if you are ready and only you can know that. I do, however, think that you should keep at least one on hand just in case something comes up.

Keep us posted, Tim...:) We're all pullin for ya.

It's your choice. You make that choice based on whatever reasons are important to you and reap the benefits. No one here would hold it against ya.

By the way, it's my opinion that most teens will experiment with smoking at some point because it was always forbidden to them. I don't think your kids will want to start vaping someday because they observed you vaping. In fact, it will probably be a deterrent for them because "that's what the old man does."

I call dibs on your juice.

I've been thinking about it too and that was my original game plan when I started. Wean down and stop. I've been on 0mg for a while now, and it turns out nicotine was easy for me to let go of. But I truly love the act of vaping. It engages all of my senses when I vape, and at this point I don't want to stop. Maybe after another few months of 0mg nicotine I'll be ready. Or maybe I'll never be ready. Just wanted to let you know you're not the only one considering it. :)

I've always said that I turned a habit (smoking) into a hobby (vaping). The thing is, I liked smoking and never had any intention to quit. But when I started vaping it just kinda happened. I'd like to eventually give up nicotine altogether (I'm down to 12mg juice now, from 18mg I started with), but I doubt I'd ever give up the act of vaping. I love the flavors, the physical tic of the act, the devices...

If you try to vape in private or "sneak a vape" here and there, that's a sure signal to the young'uns that what you are doing is "adult stuff" and they will be more apt to try and emulate the grown-up. IMHO.

Thanks, there are a few REOs I could never get rid of even if I do quit :)
I would have to keep them around just to fondle and remember the good times !!

I'm trying out the vape in the evening only and seeing how that goes.

I can say there is nothing that could possibly happen that would have me back on cigs.
I've tried them a few times since vaping and they are truly terrible.
And I proven I have no more dependency on nicotine so thats not an issue.

The issue is I truly love the act of filling my lungs deeply and feeling the TH and enjoying the flavor as a I exhale.

I only started smoking cigs because I gave up smoking other unmentionable items on a daily basis.
Honestly I'm pretty sure that was better for me ..... minus the legality and all :D

So the plan for the new year is to cut down on vaping and cut down on equipment a a bit.
I also need to cut down on watching every vaping youtube vid and checking the websites daily :)

I hope to take those several hours a day and put them to better use.

I'll still be hanging round here for a while (forever?) though.

Good luck, Tim, with what every you choose to do. BUT don't be a stranger around here and keep at least one of your Reos for old times sake.

I'm slowly decreasing the nic in my juices. I don't know if I ever will give up vaping even when I get down to 0nic but I would like to get down to 0nic. Right now I'm cutting my 6mg juices down to 3mg. I'm missing the kick using the 3mg but what I noticed today that when I vape 6mg I now get the fuzzy in the head a little.

Maybe if I spend less time vape shopping I could spend more time in the workshop!
