So, I changed my mind about which juice I wanted to vape at home and which to vape at work.

I'd been using the iclear16 for work, and the iclear30 for home. I even swapped the coil heads, since each was already saturated.

Now, here is the really weird part... Each of the two juices tastes more muted than before... In the new tank. The only significant difference beween the two I see, is from the drip tip.

The iclear16 has a significantly wider bore in the drip tip than the iclear30. Has anyone here drilled one out? If so, what were the results?

Im suprised they work at all interchanging the heads. I dont think they are designed to be swapped like an Evod and a Protank can.
And usually airflow comes from wherever air is pulled in to the atty I think you'd be fooling yourself like placebo effect if you feel there is an actual difference in flavor by drilling out the tip on an I-30, but hey I could be wrong and if it works great! let me know how it goes and vape on!

If you have the tools to bore a steel tip go for it. I have 100k in tools in my garage and would not try that.

well, I wouldn't try it either if there was no hole at all, but with an existing small hole hole, it can be enlarged, best results would come from a drill press, but a good vise and a good quality cobalt drill bit should do the trick, oh and oil constantly!

my iclear 30 pulls like sucking on a mcdonals shake.. its give you a headache vaping with it. i cant use it because of it.

mine isnt the tip it get plenty of air flow, i am pretty sure its the teeny tiny hole that is the rubber tip cover over the coil stem. the rubber cap that seals the top of the wicks.
i cut mine down a little hoping it would widen but if it does i would have to cut it flush and i wont do that.

horrible tough life sucking draw on the Iclear 30 is a known issue. it is one of the failures of the tank.

as for muted.. yeah.. same thing a known issue with the iclear 30 dual coil dual wick type design.
its why they moved away from it and went with a more popular bottom coil design. too back they kept the stupid dual wick design.

I've used the Iclear 30s for quite a while, and they never seemed that bad to me, I also take the time to take them apart regularly, clean well with hot water and dry burn them.

Btw, the new Iclear 30S is great, besides not being able to see the coil and wick, they have improved airflow by having noticably larger air holes in the 510 conn.

You might just want to stop using iClears. They're garbage.

Dude, that's just not true, there are so many worse clearos out there, generic crap that you cant rebuild or even clean! The Iclears work really well, good vapor production, warm vapor too, u just need to know how to clean and take care of them.

Btw im sorry if your not a dude.

got i16 with my first MVP, didn't like threw in a drawer
second MVP came with i30, really didn't like it, gave it away

the other day found the i16's and wondered why a nice looking device just works like crap

so I started looking hard at it...

tear it apart, remove coil, looking at bottom of base ?????????????
bottom hole is like 2mm, top of hole 1mm ?

so I tried to drill it out and find out it is a thin tin sleeve insert
so I put insert back in and drove a 1.5mm nail thru it to enlarge the top of hole

all I can say is WOW ! it fix'd my i16 clearo , they now work as should be

Hey Puf, I got interested in what you did so I drilled that pin open to the same size as the bottom portion of it 3/32 drill bit btw, I don't notice the difference, what mix juice are you vaping?

on the i16, I tried to drill and the insert came out
enlarged with a slightly bigger nail

I've always used - 50/50 or 40/60 (PG/VG) blend

made a night & day diff

holding blank base in hand, blowing thru it I could tell a restriction
it's why I drilled it out
now no restriction , and vapes like crazy...

Yes I agree with theory, and its a great idea to expand that pin opening, I use mostly 80/20 pg/vg That may be why i dont notice as much as you, but it certainly didnt hurt! It vapes great and you got me to rediscover some nutty cookie from VCV yummmm... thanks.

First, the iclear16 and 30 coil heads are interchangable. I've been doing it for months. I'm not griping about the tanks overall, but rather commenting on the surprising difference between results on them with juices (and how to make them match flavor with the same juice). I came here to see if anyone else faced the same problem; if they had, find out how they fixed it. I only see the tip as the major difference between the two.

I just found it a little weird that two diff juices each had a richer flavor in a diff tank with exact same coil heads as they had in prev tank.
