Hey everyone! So I've been vaping out of my ProTankII/iTaste V3 set up, and I'm planning for my first upgrade. I was wondering how soon I should switch it all out. Nothing is wrong with anything, I just want to be prepared :)

I like my clearomizer, but I want to learn more about RBAs and RDAs, and if I decide to go with a new device, I'm not sure if I should stay with a VV/VW or go mechanical, or ahhhh! Questions!

You could go sorta middle of the road and purchase a Silver Bullet. Customer service is great, upgrade to use with a kick if you desire. I'm not sure why it doesn't get much respect around here, excellent price and quality.

The SB has always gotten respect. It was the best there was for a long time. It's just somewhat of a dated design now is all. It's an 18650 mod that is the same size as most modern 26650 mods.

In the end you will want both a good mechanical and a good VV/VW. Doesn't matter all that much which you get first.
My first upgrade was the SB, but that was over three years ago. What it did was give me a reliable foundation PV that I could count on, and that allowed me to buy another PV every six months or so without having to worry so much about it being a good choice or not. I've always had that old SB to fall back on if I didn't like the new one. The SB is still here, and works just fine even tho' I probably now have a dozen PVs that I like better.

    add:
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif] I think the only one I've seen mostly good things is a Nemesis clone?

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]That's funny, because the Nemmy, IMO, has more quirks than almost any other mechanical. Even my old Mako is a better designed mechanical (just not as pretty, and yes, I have a Nemmy)
Ironically, my Kayfun is sitting on top of my Nemesis with a Kick-2 in it, and my Provari is busy powering other things.

Man, I've been researching mech mods so adamantly, I forgot there's a lot of other great choices  The SB and Provari look promising though! :)

There are lots of great choices
    BUT:
This is when working properly is an absolute must!

If you are seriously considering a ProVari, today is the day! They are having a 10% off sale July 4th only!

I recently got my first ProVari (I got a "Blem" that I can not find the blemish on) and am very satisfied! It is my third AVP and I am extremely happy with it. However, you mentioned the possibly of a VV/VW device, ProVari is VV only. That being said, I am not into sub-Ohming of anything extra so it suits my needs totally.

Good luck and I hope you find something that works well for you.

Hi! I'm definitely a newbie and went from a blister pack White Rhino to a Halo Triton with both a 900mah & 1300mah variable batteries - learnt how to clean and change out my atomizer coils and experimented with using a little organic cotton on the coil with a synthetic wick for flavor. I'm a small person but I also really wanted to upgrade, so today I bought a Smok ZMAX Mini V2 Black Chrome Mod Variable Voltage Wattage Vaporizer Smoktech 2. Did I make a good choice?!

But I won't know how it works until I get it! They have good reviews, and I'm hoping that the choices for controlling the voltage etc will help juices that are a little ... meh ... on my egos, perk up with more oomph behind it. Am I thinking along the right track? Are there any 'experts' out there who check in on us newbies?

I'm certainly not an expert but will say you'll get more responses it you ask for advice before you buy. After you buy we just look for a review. I'm thinkin you're too close to DC. That's how they operate up there too.
