Hello. It's been a while since my last post but I'm considering another attempt with e-cigs so I wanted to ask for some advice from you guys since I've been out of the loop with e-cigs and this forum for a while.
I'll try to keep smoking background brief:
I have smoked a half-pack-a-day for 20 years. I've always smoked menthol lights, currently Parliament menthol lights. I've tried to quit in the past with will power, gum, and medication. None of which were successful, but the gum got me the farthest along since I could control my nicotine intake. The act and sensation of smoking is always the hook that brings me back to analogues.
First time vaping:
A little over a year ago I learned about ecigs, signed up to this forum, asked questions and ordered a kit. I ordered a shorty kr808 from V4L with PCC. One manual and one automatic. I ordered a variety of mid-level nicotine menthol cartomizers and received some free food/coffee-flavored samples. I was so pumped to try vaping for the first time but was quickly deflated after sampling all of my cartomizers. All of them hurt like burning hell. Not my throat so much, my lungs. It was either too hot, too heavy on the PG, or too heavy on the nicotine. I tried vaping everyday for a week or so, using all vaping techniques (timing, mouth first then inhale, etc.) that I could find on this forum, but I slowly stopped trying since I was in no way enjoying it.
Second attempt with vaping:
A couple months after my first dive into vaping, I decided to change what I was vaping. So I ordered v4L Cool Carts and 12 mg menthol juice from Halo. When everything arrived, I filled my carts properly, let them sit for a day or two. Although the flavor was much better this time around, the burn was still there. Having realized I may have an issue with PG, I ordered Johnson Creek's VG line of ejuice, Red Oak - Wisconsin Frost in 11mg. The burning sensation was less, but it was still very unpleasant to my lungs and the taste was a bit too sweet. So back to the smokes I went.
Third attempt:
With the birth of our second child coming, I want to try vaping again as a way to rid myself of smoking cigarettes. After re-immersing myself in this forum and the various e-cig advances since I've been away, I'm looking to place another order. This time I will try a variation that I haven't tried in the past, which is order low mg nicotine. I've always gone with the mid-level nicotine in the past and never thought to try lowering the nicotine to lessen the burning sensation. I also used to wonder if it was the carts themselves that irritated me, so I was very intrigued when I read about Halo's G6 ecig with their "flameguard" and "thermoflow" technology. The feedback I've read has been all positive on the G6 so I'm leaning towards placing an order. Soon, especially since they are having a 15% off Labor Day Sale.
This is where I need some advice:
• 1) I want to try the G6 Malibu Menthol Cartomizers in 6 mg. Do I need to order the kit? Or will the cartomizers fit on my shorty V4L battery?
I like the finish on the G6's so it won't be a huge deal if I have to order the kit. Especially since I've read that the G6 batteries work on V4L's PCC.
• 2) I don't like like long cigs (analogue or e-variety) so I'd like to get as close to the size of a standard cigarette as possible, so out of the Halo choices of 65mm or 78mm, which would be best? I assume the 65mm with a cartomizer on would be the closest match, size-wise. But other than a lesser battery life, which isn't too big of a deal to me since i have a PCC, is there any other negative to ordering a mini over standard?
• 3) Probably the broadest question of all, am I making the right choice sticking with a kr808 if my main qualms with vaping is heat and lung irritation? Is there something else that's proven to be easier on the lungs and throat similar to a cigarette? I just had a cig and payed close attention to what I "feel" in my lungs and it's practically nothing. No overly dry or irritating heat on the my throat and just a mild pleasurable menthol sensation in my lungs. If there is an ecig out there that can better match what I'm feeling and not feeling from a cig, I'd greatly appreciate any feedback before I place my Halo order in the next day or so.
Thank you!
