Old?!? 5er don't you know that us buzzards never get OLD? We just become more experienced!! ;)

Well, this weather is wacky. Not a drop from the sky yet today, although it has looked like it would storm soon at different points throughout the day so far. I really hope it's a nice weekend bc I want to swim!!! Did I ever tell you I was a mermaid in a past life? LOL I think so!

We are forecast to receive up to 3 inches of rain in the next 3 days....I gotta go out and find a place to put it....

Went by and picked up the landscape rake a few minutes ago....Don't know if it levels mud or not....

Spike stayed at Mom's for a while yesterday...He wasn't feeling well last evening and I figured Mom had fed him some human food...Examination revealed something had bitten/stung him on the throat,,,A semi-fresh nail trim and a lot of scratching had it bleeding....The swelling has gone done for the most par but still keeping a close eye on him ATM....

Ouch, poor Spike! I can remember quite a few long nights with one or the other of our rescue dogs when they would get nailed on the nose by a scorpion. You'd think that after the first time, they would have learned to to stick their nose to one. Glad you're watching him close, Dee.

Tracy, this is more the kind of weather I'm used to in the summer, no wonder I hate summer more every year!

Oh that's too bad LD. I know the feeling when your compadre gets to feeling bad and you don't quite know what it is. I hope it's not a tic or snake bite. My dog in Montana was laying around for days and not eating so we took him in and under Xray the vet found he had a belly full of buckshot where someone shot him. Had to put him down and I still miss him. I hope and pray Spike gets better real soon LD.

One of our dogs (all of them are BIG boys) is an extra large breed of Airedale. He's a good guard dog, great with kids, has to have his nose in everything that's going on, ultra-protective of my wife (if a delivery man or a man he doesn't know shows up at the house he positions himself between the man and my wife and stays there). Very loving and funny.

We noticed one day he had some very bad breath and I had examined his mouth but found nothing. This persisted.

One day we were sitting outside on a hot day and my wife looked over at the dog and said, "honey, that dog has something stuck way back in his throat." We looked but couldn't see anything, so she opens that huge dogs mouth and reaches in (he loves her and let her do it) and her arm disappeared halfway down. When her hand reappeared she was holding a smooth stick that had been stuck sideways in the dogs throat.

I've known people who question the intelligence of animals, but this giant dog was so happy to have that stick out of his throat that he smothered her with hugs and kisses in appreciation.

And that was the source of the bad dog breath.

Problem solved by an attentive wife.

TGIF!! Good morning Folks.

TGIF?????????

Franny, you mean to tell me that its Friday already? Nooo, that can't be. I had a lot of work planned for this week and I haven't got around to doing any of it yet.

I guess I'll have to wait until next week.

Its too late to start a new job now.
