Thanks Salem, I'll take a look at Tigerdirect and NewEgg. :)

I wished the steroids did that for me, LOL! When I get a flare-up the fatigue is so bad that I have to take medicine that will help me stay awake. It does increase me appetite though :(

Well, the first day is great for me. After that, I just want to sleep and at least feel like I have eaten. Never experienced anything quite like the hunger that being on steroids creates.

They are not great for you long term but, sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks. I have bouts if fatigue ( nothing like yours, I am sure) and I can really empathize with you :(

Good Afternoon All! I just finished up a 4 day IV steroid treatment and now I taper down with oral treatment for a week. I feel like a steroid junkie. As bad as steroids can be in the long run, I am so thankful to be feeling better and functioning. :)

It did take me a while to catch up on the last few days; washing machines, laundry detergent, fans, malfunctioning hardware, cheap e-liq., and property maintenance. Oh, and happy anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Wharf!

I do have some bad news, my computer crashed. After paying Microsoft Tech Support $99 and spending, what seemed like forever, hours on the phone with a tech from India, I had to re-install my OS. Now, the tech did tell me that I would loose my document, files, etc, but he neglected to tell me that I would loose all my programs and drivers. And, he also left out, the $99 does not cover help to recover all those lost programs and drivers. I 'freaking' can't even get online because I don't have the driver for my networking!!!!! My daughter so graciously let me use her tiny tinny notebook to check my emails and reply. She's worried that I'm going to break her baby computer. I bought my laptop four years ago. Its a Fujitsu that cost me, on sale, $1200. I am totally at a lost as to what to do. Do I drive 45 minutes , one way, to Best buy and let the Geek Squid fix my laptop or do I drive 5 minutes to the local Walmart to buy another laptop? I have about $350 total to spend. I would appreciate input!

Did you try the system restore? You should create a repair disk and a set of backup disks for it when it's working again.

Go to the start menu and type "system restore" without the quotation marks and click find or search. After system restore starts click continue or OK whichever is there and let it restore your system. You won't lose anything.
Or (if you have windows 7) and you have the installation disk,
Turn on your computer, insert the Windows 7 installation disc and then turn off your computer.

Restart your computer.

Press any key when prompted to do so, and then follow any instructions that appear.

When the Install Windows page appears, click Repair your computer to access system recovery options.

Follow the instructions. You won't lose your stuff here either.

PS My workhorse PC is way past 4yrs old and it works great. I use it for doing all my downloads and othe tasks I don't want to do on this one.

I did make the repair disk when I first bought the laptop, but finding it is the problem. I moved from Houston, TX to New Freedom, PA. Lived in a temporary home for 11 months and then moved to Shrewsbury. Each house got smaller and stuff got put here, there, and who knows where. If my daughter got a hold of it and put it in her bedroom, it will never be seen again! I refer to her bedroom as the 'Black-hole'. Everything that goes in, never comes out, except for her. LOL!

Anyway, I have, or had, Vista Ultimate. I did manage to find that disk. We tried everything the tech could think of to boot up my computer, without having to use the OS disk. I select the 'repair' option and I was left with, well you read what I was left with. I had a back up from Aug 3rd, but the programs were no longer installed so it was useless. It was the Windows Automatic Update that caused the crash. I thought I was being a good little computer owner by accepting and installing the updates automatically. According to the MS Support tech, this can happen when programs or settings on your computer don't jive with MS Updates. Go figure!

On this day 28 years ago, Miss Not-Wharf agreed to become MRS Wharf and I am truly blessed because of her (brilliant) decision :)

Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs Wharf both! I almost missed this post. :toast:

Hey! Wait a minute. Didn't you two just have one of these last year about this time?

I hate Vista. It's the worst program Microsoft ever made. If you put the OS disk in and clicked repair and it didn't then you have something else wrong. Mine crashed awhile back and I replaced everything in it. The HDD, The Motherboard, the Processor and it ended up being one of my memory boards. You can get a decent PC for $350.00.

If you go into the control panel then the device manager under each device that has a yellow triangle on it right click and click on update drivers it will update the drivers for that device. Then go on to the next one and do the same. Also in your programs "C" file you should have a program called Windows Old. That is your old program with everything you had before.

I stayed with XP until Win 7x64 came out. I don't want anything to do with Win 8 either.

Got the shed door repair kit ordered. That'll teach me to tell Katie that if I'ma do a job, I'm not gonna do it half assed

I think Microsoft ended up hating Vista too. Windows 7 was built on the Vista platform. They use the same updates. I like Windows 7 the best. Windows 8 was engineered for the touchscreen and especially the tablets. I didn't care for it either. I had Windows 8 all last yr. while I was testing it for them and was offered it for 50% off but I don't want it.

I finally almost got the body of my new PV done but now it goes on the shelf for awhile because I got more pressing things to do.

Thanks all !!! Mrs Wharf reminds me (constantly ) that she didn't say "I do". Greek wedding there are no I do's. We wear tethered crowns, light candles, drink wine and prance around the alter. I always reminder her, "you pranced for God, that's as good as I do" :)

Happy Anniversary buddy. I hope you have many many more to come. I never thought I would do it again, but I did the one knee thing last Sunday, and she said yes.

Salem, I was getting fairly settled, but now Becky is moving in, along with her daughter. So, Abi and I had this 4 bedroom all to ourselves, and now my office is looking like it's becoming the spare room. It's okay though, because she is worth it. ;-)

Oh, Vista wasn't the worst OS Microsoft ever did. That crown goes to Windows ME. But, it came close.
