    (((mod))) ;)

I know Fran, makes ya wonder if you should even shop at all.....makes finding room for everything even harder if there's a power outage. ***bites her tongue***

We're pretty set for storms here. Rarely need to shop unless there's something we need anyway.

Evening all! I haven't even looked at the weather today, been busy with MIL's artery scan and yep...the milk and bread run! Only I didn't get milk and bread since the main worry is losing power. I got the good stuff that doesn't need to stay cold, like a bag of Almond Joy's, a bag of Chex Mix, couple of boxes of cookies...just the essentials ;)

All the neighbors are dragging out and setting up their generators. I hope this is a good sign...they go to all that trouble and the power stays on LOL!

LOL, when I went up to town today I loaded up on sun tan lotion at the Dollar Store.

    I just hate getting sunburned!

I put my grown up panties on when it came to buying hubby's cigarettes this week! I bought a roller, a box of filtered tubes, a bag of pipe tobacco, and told him to get busy!

I used to love toast with cinnamon, sugar, and milk on it when I was a little yonker.
I used to make my own cinnamon/sugar mix to make cinnamon toast for a snack. I'd mix it (cinnamon/sugar) in a sandwich bag and store it for later use. I used to use the same mix to make my instant microwave applesauce (chopped apples nuked then mashed).

I used to do the cinnamon sugar thing too Mod, and kept it in a salt shaker. I also make a great, cheap version of the Cafe Vienna instant coffee.

    1/2 cup instant coffee
    2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup instant nonfat dry milk powder
    1/4 cup powdered coffee creamer
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup store bought instant butterscotch or vanilla flavored pudding mix (optional)

Measure all of the ingredients into a clean, dry bowl. Use a fork to combine everything evenly. If you are ambitious, you can powder everything in a blender. I don’t always do this because I am lazy. You do get really impressive results from it though, and it is easier to do than one would expect. Transfer the mixture to a resealable container, or a pretty jar. Makes 2 1/2 cups.

To Prepare: Place 2 tablespoons of dry Cafe Vienna into a coffee cup. Add hot water to fill up the cup (about 3/4 cup hot water). Stir and serve.

Leave out the cinnamon, and try a flavored coffee creamer for a change up. I use a hazelnut dry creamer and it's delicious. Be sure you use Jello brand instant pudding, I've tried the cheaper brands and they just don't taste as good. You can also try different pudding flavors. I make a double batch of this every time I make it :)
