Mark, I hope it's a fairly simple fix for you.

5c we have a neighborhood possum that waddles around our yard at night, and a skunk. I'm sure they aren't the only ones, but they frequent the buffet of bread, crackers, etc that Katie throws out for the birds and squirrels. We have a feral cat that Katie feeds, he's been here for 7 years and he still won't let you pet him. He'll rub across your leg if you have his food bowl in hand, but will run if you bend down to try to pet him. We always worry about him when we don't see him for a couple of days.

Evening all :)

Zero signs of water where the pipe goes through the roof, flashing, plywood, and the outer wall pipe are all dry, no drip stains.

I'm thinking maybe just a bit got blown sideways, between the storm collar and the inner stove pipe.

Pan DW placed on the stove was bone dry, so it can't have been more than a few drops. I'll write that one off for now, see if it repeats.

Not so lucky at camp, looks like I'm getting some water from the top triangular section of the wall, the section I knew was marginal but hadn't replaced. I finally found a damp spot on the new sheathing, up high.

I don't want to mess with the wall any more until later in the season, need more sheathing and siding, get it when I order another truckload of stuff from Lowes for the deck. Think I'll tack down the one clearly popped board, then just cover that section with heavy clear plastic until Fall. Stabilize it, so I can move on to the deck that I really want to get going on.

Nice weather tomorrow, and I should get out early, worked extra hours earlier in the week. Definitely want to try the kayak, then get the wall done for the time being, pop off some of the crawl space skirt and start the deck.

A shot from the steps. Rain tapered off after about 1-1/4", but water is decently high, will undoubtedly rise some more. The water should normally be just past the furthest line of trees :)

Watch those racoons Five!!!

All went well at my Aunt's luncheon...No one died...

As usual as I prepped to take Mom to the luncheon the dang phone blew up...My cousin runs a shop and needed to borrow my air hammer...I dropped it by after returning from the luncheon....and then the storm hit....We watched huddled in the shop as a tornado passed directly above us...It's not a pretty sight and I don't really like the sheet has hit the fan feelings of .....well....terror...It produced straight line winds of 70 mph...trees and power lines are down....many without power...After that ordeal I drove down too the beach to survey the floor...It's humped up slightly...Hoping as it dries it will flatten out some...Looks like a bath remodel will be required in the future...I'll be contacting the insurance agent soon...

I got ahead of the cold front on my drive down...It's cracking and booming with the rain ahhhh pouring....Luckily the wind didn't show up as it did earlier...Forecast is for a beautiful weekend...It's needed for sure....

Wash
Put some heavy blocks on it LD and it may come down as it dries.

We've been getting sprinkles now and then but with the moisture and heat it was terrible today. I got this laptop done except for a 1&3/8 inch flexcable that runs the touchpad and LCDs on it and I can't beg, borrow, or steal one. Had one guy give me 2 to cut down but no go. I'll be looking again tomorrow. I'm hoping the one that's on the way has the right one.

Mark it looks wet down there. Fran wasn't you saying something about how hot it was a week ago? Now that's where the cold came from.

Luckily our weather was a lot calmer than forecasted. We got a bunch of rain off and on yesterday, but no high winds and hail.
I'm sorry about your beach house ElDee, but surely glad you escaped that tornado without harm!
Mark, I wonder if you will be able to net fish from the yard? Wow!

Much cooler since the storm, so I doubt we will be doing any swimming today....Maddie keeps asking everyday to go in the pool. Maybe tomorrow.

We had 24 tornado warnings....winds were in excess of 80 mph...That's 10+mph on yesterday's measurement...As far as I know no tornados touched down...The tornado that passed over us was laying in line with the cloud...not pointing too the ground...Still it was funnel shaped and rotating at a good clip...My cousin lost a very nice shop years back due to a propane leak...Very glad this tornado didn't touch down..There are widespread power outages...Lots of trees down...I've heard no reports of injuries....

Dear Friends,

I am riding in this year's Tour de Cure to help Stop Diabetes. I have joined thousands of riders from across the country in this effort to raise money to further the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes.

By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Diabetes Association change the future of diabetes by providing community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.

Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin, a hormone needed to convert food into energy. There are over 26 million Americans living with diabetes. If current trends continue, one out of three children will face a future with diabetes. This is a startling statistic and your donation will help to change this.

I know my participation in this year's Tour de Cure can and will make a difference. Please help me reach my goal of <$250> by supporting me with a donation.

You can follow the link below to my personal webpage to make a secure, 100% tax-deductible, online donation. I will be cycling 100k at the DFW Tour de Cure on August 3rd, which starts with a lap around Texas Motor Speedway.

Together we can Stop Diabetes!

Lots of rain here yesterday and last night. Fast as you can sweep the basement water to the drain, it's ready to sweep again. The rain has stopped for today, but we'll have water coming in for at least the rest of today.

Dee, I've been thru a tornado as well as having seen many a funnel...it has a very high pucker factor for sure! Glad to hear of no injuries thus far. The wind came up here around 11pm to around 40mph gusts and lasted for a couple of hours. I was sitting here at my computer at about 11:50 and heard a loud explosion. If you've ever lived inner city anywhere, that's when you hit the floor! No power outages for us, but I expect it was a transformer on a line that doesn't feed us.

Ark, what a great cause to ride for! Good luck, and thank you for giving of yourself for the ADA!

Tracy...poor Maddie doesn't understand how cold your pool water must still be lol. You may have to buy that sweet baby a wetsuit
