This is true, but i'm not sure I get your point. With clearomizers, the atomizer and tank are inseparable (in a figurative sense, I don't mean physically). Each mfc uses a proprietary atomizer (the PTs and Davides are the exceptions, insofar as they can use the same replacement heads).

I hope we're not confusing the hell out of the OP.

Well, the point is to get the whole thing clear;

what does it mean that "the atomizer and tank are inseparable (in a figurative sense, I don't mean physically)" ?
That just confuses people.

Actually the atomiser and the tank USED TO BE inseparable - PHYSICALLY, not merely figuratively. The only remain figuratively inseparable now in the minds of accustomed vapers who saw the emergence of dual coil tanks.

It seems to me that in the industry, not long ago - even last year 2012, there were I imagine, Dual Coil tanks!
You COULD NOT change the atomiser in the tank.
If you wanted a lower resistance coil, you would have to buy a tank with a lower resistance coil.

But now, tanks are being constructed with CHANGEABLE atomisers, therefore although the 'lingo' or 'jargon' merely continues on, it makes no logical sense and confuses the new people.

Another aspect is the evolution of STANDARD atomisers. For somebody looking to purchase a tank, they would want to be aware of how common the atomiser is accross tanks.

A good example is the cartos. The cartos tanks are Bottom Coil Changeable tanks; and if the cartomizer has dual coil then....
The cartomizer is an example of a standard BCC atomiser. Different brands of cartomizer will work in different brands of cartotank.

The 'clearo' world will move in that direction also; clearos that use a common atomizer are the ones that will survive.

We're talking apples & oranges here, and getting way off topic. The Apire and Davide in the thread title are BDCCs = changeable coil. Yes, the coil can be replaced, without having to toss the whole clearomizer.

The way you describe it could be interpreted as meaning that a specific coil type can be used in different clearomizer models, which of course they can't, apart from a few exceptions.

BTW, to the best of my knowledge, only Joyetech products use the term 'atomizer.' For everything else its 'coils' or 'heads.'

Not at all! Sorry for my absence :) I visited a local shop yesterday (the only one!) and went for the Smok Aro BCC tank - over the anyvape davide she had because it has plastic instead of pyrex. I understand that pyrex is considered to give a cleaner taste - but with pets and kids in the house I thought the Smok Aro would be less breakable :)

I'm really impressed with it so far. The Ego-C came as well and my partner has decided he prefers that - which is great coz I'm not letting go of the Smok Aro for anyone! lol

Planning on writing a newbie guide post just covering my experiences as a total newb with the eroll, ego-c and smok aro bcc tank. Thought it might be useful from the perspective of someone who a week ago had no idea about these things. For what its worth I much prefer the smok aro - its less fiddly (not as many bits), gives a more satisfying vape/hit and seems durable

I got my Aspires yesterday, an Aspire Vivi Nova-S (pyrex tank) and the same model in mini size....not sure if the OP is still following this thread, but I put up PBusardo's positive review earlier in this thread, so I thought I should comment.

For starters, neither of these work particularly well on my mech mod, which sux, because that's my ADV device. The problem is at least partly to do with my mech, which lacks recesses on the top cap to allow a proper airflow. I can hardly get any draw at all with the full-sized one, although the mini is passable. With the bad airflow comes gurgling and occasional leaking -- so these are not the no-brainers I had hoped they would be.

On a regulated mod which allows better airflow, it's a different story, and I get what these are about. Both of these BDCC clearos provide a pretty darn good vape -- nice flavor, and as much vapour production as I've seen from a basic clearo. But ultimately it comes down to personal preference, and while i'm glad I checked out these Aspires, I think I still prefer the BCC Davides that I've been using for a couple months.

Edit: I just saw another thread suggesting that the leaking/gurgling could be due to sub-par coils...because the Aspires work well on one APV but not on another, I don't think that's what's happening. But i'm certainly no expert.
