The "ring" would be the connector itself, the gap between it and the rest of the body being the drip well. You'd have to use an eGo adapter for skirted cartos and clearos.

I know, but how great would that be ... with the ring on you have a flush connector and a drip well unscrew it and you have an ego connector. Wouldn't really be that hard to do

The main problem with that is that the recess would have to be very deep, almost half an inch, and the outer wall would have to be about 5/8" ID to accommodate eGo-skirted devices. I'm not saying it's not doable, but as drip wells go, that's huge, and would preclude a tapered top cap design because the outer wall would be too thin otherwise. Might also be a little bit of a pain to clean, like trying to wash one of those fancy drink glasses with nooks that are hard to get into :)

Wont know til april, sorry about the rant I just have seen SO much praise for the provari its ridiculous ... there ARE so many more varivolt designs out there that get knocked of peoples lists because its not a "common" name.
Now I'm not saying provari should be avoided, what I am saying is give some of the other brands a fair chance

I'm going to have to agree with you here. When I was rather new to the vaping world all I heard was Provari, Provari, Provari. Yeah, it's a nice mod, but like you said, there's lots of others that are good.

I started with a Madvapes Vapestack, liked it but wasn't enough Power for me. I moved on to a GLV, then a Bolt and have finally settled on my one true love, The Mantis. I love my Mantis, like I love my dog. It's not popular (It should be, who dosn't love flashing multi colored LED lights if your a girl?)

:)

You certainly have the timeline right on this one! I agree with everything you say except the name. It's SmokTech that makes these. I'll be keeping a close eye on the new VV's to be sure. I would love to see them come out with a winner this time.

sorry about that I corrected it. Now you can correct the quote and the original may disappear into the internet void..

provari this provari that we don't care this isnt a provari thread

Except that this new device is clearly trying to compete with the ProVari and even looks rather like one, so comparisons are kind of unavoidable, especially when the ProVari is the yardstick by which other VV tube mods are measured.

This is exactly the "problem", if this is 1/4 the price of a Provari, performs almost as well and lasts 1/2 the time, then it should be a success; otherwise it will always be called the "poor man's provari" because of the way it looks.

I wasn't specifically referring to the phrase "poor man's ProVari," just to the idea that bringing up the ProVari at all should be avoided, which is pretty well can't be. It probably won't be a quarter of the price -- probably a third at best for a full kit compared against a full ProVari kit with batteries, charger, extension cap, etc. But even so the big question will almost certainly and repeatedly be, "How does it stack up against a ProVari?" Because it's clearly aiming at that market with an even higher amperage limit than than the V2 (which, technically speaking, is overkill anyway), looks like a textured ProVari, and has the one-button LED menu system like the ProVari. Even if it does turn out to die out or become damaged quicker than a ProVari but lasts half as long that's still a pretty good proposition, I agree. But people are going to want to quantify that.

I am one of the lucky ones with a Smoktech E-Power 14650. In fact, I have two in use and other still wrapped up as new parts. Purchased last November mine are stainless steel and came with the first version blue LED switch. The switches worked flawlessly but I replaced them two weeks ago with the upgraded blue LED switch with the 5-click safety. I'm keeping the old switches as spares. No problems at all with this well-built PV.

I suspect the new VV Bolt will give the LT a good run for the money. I posted a few specs on this PV on the new member forum.

And the beat goes on..

Smoktech still dose not know that a PV needs a wire bigger than 30 guage, check this thread on servicing the bolt.

Smoktech products are cheaply made. Smoktech wrote the song I am just singing it.:2c:

Btw, big E-power fan, have many of them, all are working fine and I have at least 2 in daily use.
I find it hard to support a company that has left many other people high and dry.

Well lets hope they have changed that with the VV Bolt, I for one will be waiting for a review and tear down before buying one.
