Flavor suggestions anyone?

My cherry colada mix:

• Lorann cherry flavoring: about 10 drops
• Lorann pina colada: about 5 drops
• VG: as much as needed to dilute the nic-liquid to the strength you want (I use Ecopure Krystal 36 mg, cut to 12 mg with VG)
• Ecopure flavorless nic-liquid (or any nic-liquid, really): about 4 or 5 ml.

Deeeeeeeeelish. I've used it to cut the 24mg caramel nic-liquid I got and couldn't stand, and now I love that stuff as well.

When you get frustrated and dont understand something please feel free to just ask. There are no stupid questions (occasionally stupid answers but well....) I started here and had noooo idea what was going on...3 months later Im actually giving demos and converting people like crazy!!! Give it time, ask lots and lots of questions. You can start a thread (a post) after you post 15 of these. If you have any questions please feel free to private message me. I'd be happy to help you out. I was frustrated in the beginning but now I will never go back to smoking regular cigs....Patience, take a deep breath and keep chuggin' along and the lightbulb in the brain will start to come on and this will all make sense...I promise it will. You can get as deep into e-cigs as you want or learn as little as you want. I have co-workers who don't know much more than how to top off a cart or drip and that's it. They don't mix juice, they don't cut their juice with anything and they're happy little clams.

Before I started participating on the forum, I looked at YouTube. A lot! I actually looked at everything on YouTube at the time. That's really all you need to know in a nutshell. Hope it doesn't raise more questions than it answers! If you watch all three, I think you'll understand e-cigs and what questions you need to ask. Fortunately, you've come to the right place. Almost everyone here is glad to share their experiences and what they've learned. Everyone has an opinion and we just try to be respectful of the diversity.

I started off with a 3 piece (not the 510) and although I liked it and it helped me cut down on analogs, I wasn't able to quit completely with it (probably had to do more with the too low nic level). Then a few weeks later I got the vaporking (KR808D-1) 2 piece. Haven't had an analog since (4/13/09)...less fuss. Can still refill with liquid if I want. Much easier when you're out and about.

The difference in the carts vs the cartomizer is carts are part of the 3 piece design...battery/atomizer/cart...vs battery/cartomizer (atomizer built into the cart)

2 piece are a bit more expensive (I think) but you get a new atomizer with each cart.

Just pop on a cartomizer and you're vaping away. Cartomizer's last much longer before needing to switch or refill. Since I don't have the 510 I don't know really how long they last, but I can tell you that myself being (was) a pack a day smoker, I'm now going through about 2 carts a day. One cartomizer will last me anywhere from 4-8 hrs..6 being the norm. Depending on how much I vape (which is pretty much ALL THE TIME..lol) I used a lot more when I first started.

I personally like the coffee flavor for all day and then some fruity or candy flavor for a few puffs every now and then.

Good luck with your decision and whatever you do, don't give up on this forum. It's overwhelming yes, but well worth it. Great people on here.

The reason you can't post elsewherer is your post count. You need at least 15 posts to start a thread outside the new section. You can post in most places to an existing thread. This is to keep botts and spammers from posting.
Fruit flavors are wonderful, I love pear and banana. If your supplier has sample sizes..3ml or 5 mls, get a few to try.
Vaping is wonderful and I have been 6 and 1/2 months analog free with e-cigs..but bear in mind vaping isn't for everyone. You first purchase should be for a kit with 2 batteries and 1 atty..2 if you can get it. Plus juice.
The wick is just the filling in the cart. They can be removed, rinsed and used again. After a while you can decide what you want to replace the wicking material with or just buy 5 more carts for about 3.00 or less.
Yes, this place is huge and the amount of info is daunting..but do what everyone else has told you and read Don's intro. If you do your homework and are ready for your first P.V. (personal vaporizer) you will find it easy to use and really enjoyable. There are many here who will help you along the way!.

Deciding on what to get is tough. It depends on what you need. Do you want lots of vapor, and for your cartridges to last as long as possible and have that same "throat hit" that a regular cig gives you? Do you want something simple and disposible without alot of messing with it? I suggest that first thing to do is list what you NEED out of an e-cig.

Personally I needed to come as close re-creating actual "smoking" as possible. I started with a dse901. Its a reg. cig size unit but Its a little involved cause its really tempermental..(at least mine is, some have no problems at all) but I learned all I could about troubleshooting anything that happened right here in this forum and I had no problems fixing anything that frustrated me. I just ordered a 510 which is roughly the same size (not interchangable with my 901) as my 901 but it has more oomph from what Ive seen. I have tried one a few times I could get ahold of one and I really like it. Dont start too cheap cause you will get what you pay for, for the most part. These thingys do take a bit of patience while your figuring it out but Its well worth it. I know where your comming from but it is like these other folks are saying, You have to be ready to move on to something different. If your not ready dont do it. I was motivated about the savings I would get and to get away from the smelly stank that I always carried around. Just look down on this page and see how much I have saved since Aug 11th 2009. Out of 964 bucks I might have spent 325 bucks on my first kit, all my spare parts, lots of juice and extra chargers total! I would have spent that In just over a month smoking regular smokes. You figure out what you want and what your willing to do and do it!! : )

Give her a break dude...it IS complicated in the beginning when your overloaded with info that doesnt make sense. Or did you forget that. Or were you just "gifted" and knew everything when you chose your first vape? This is the beginners place and they need to be able to ask lots and lots of questions. That what its here for..duh. Who gives a poop if shes indecisive. Who are you to judge? Lighten up or go judge the "know it alls" in the other forums. People like you discourage others just by your "do it and just shut up" attitude.

I think I'm part of the problem to be honest...

I believe the folks here are genuinely helpfull, genuinely trying to offer the best advice and pass on the benefit of their own experiences...it probably just gets a bit overwhelming for folks who aren't used to the jargon and all the abbreviations.

I agree, it can be overwhelming, especially with the unusually high concentration of information on the subject. It took me a good week from the time I first googled 'e cig'. In the end I wanted something that would give me a good experience from a noob perspective but not hold me back in terms of options later on.

For me it was a 510 with manual batteries and a pcc, so I got two kits, one for me and one for my wife. I loved it immediately and quit analogs on the spot. My wife, however didn't and it wasn't until two weeks later when I got her an M401 (or EVO) with automatic batteries (PCC's aren't available for the 401). She loves that thing and she uses the 510 for her flavors.

Personally I don't think anyone can go wrong with a 510. I'm willing to bet that more first time e-cig users are more satisfied with their 510 than any other model. Basically thats my no-brainer choice for a noob that doesn't know where to start.

As far as juice, I like the ECOpure juices (Gold 30mg) I think they are the most neutral taste and aroma around. Don't expect any 'tobacco' juice to taste like tobacco. I'm not huge on flavors, but there are a few that I do like. I'd suggest a few 6ml samples from Nhaler, very high quality juices, if you want flavors. I like Drew's Dr. Pepper and his Sleepy Time Lung Juice, but thats just me.

I'd also like to congratulate you on your decision to try vaping. This forum has been immensely helpful to me, both technically and as a support system for making the switch. You'll be very happy when you get your kit.

No- For some it just too much. It's alot of info to decipher, and you have to want to learn.

Keep reading- buy a 510 then ask a logical question

E-cigs are not complicated at all. Reading all the info here is what makes it complicated. One person will order a 510 and when he gets it it does not work. Then he orders an 801 and it works fine. Then he ends up posting some thread saying that the 510 is a piece of garbage and tells everyone not to order it. Then he says the 801 is the greatest e-cig ever made because it works for him.

Another guy buys an 801 and it does not work. Then he buys a 510 and it works great. Then he slams the 801 and says how wonderful it is.

And so on and so on.

The bottom line is that they are all good. the problem is that all manufacturers make some defects and if you are the unlucky person to get one, then you think that model sucks.

My recommendation to any noob is to just pick one. Pick anyone, it does not matter which one, just pick one. Also order some juice as well, or you will be sorry that the carts that came with the kit dint last as long as you think it will.

My only other recommendation is to buy from a reputable dealer so if you do get a bad one, they will gladly replace it without any problems. I have ordered from many of the vendors that support this site and have not had a problem with any of them. It seems like all of them are probably good to order from. Don't order from some advertisement you heard on tv, radio, or magazine. It seems like those companies have the worst customer service.

Lastly, when you get your e-cig, practice smoking with it. Smoking an e-cig is a little different than an analog cig. You will get used to it and you will enjoy it. The taste of the juice will also be a little odd at first, but eventually you will love it.

I kind of took it as Always Sunny (the OP) finding a new way to say, "Hi, I'm a newb, give me some clear guidance." Every day there are a bunch of new people who basically ask the same questions: "Where do I start? How do I do this? Please advise me..." This was, I thought, kind of a clever take on it.

It's pretty much the way it was with me, I think. The OP came face to face with the information overload that results from lots of vapers of varying levels of experience and differing personal tastes all trying to offer input.... not surprising that someone might think this is all too much, too confusing, too esoteric. I know I was kind of apprehensive when I started reading all the threads about modifications, atomizers failing or clogging or losing effectiveness.

The best thing I did when I first joined was to read DonDaBoomVape's illustrated guide. It really clarified things and made much of what I later read in other threads a bit more understandable. I personally feel that it might help if they made you check a box that says you've read that entire thread before being allowed to post! There'd be a lot fewer questions of the type that say, "I've basically read none of the information here. Tell me what to buy and where to buy it." Nothing wrong, I guess, with that kind of question, since many of us really do enjoy sharing what we've learned, and the question never seems to get old.
