OK, we have the first volunteer to setup and maintain a wiki of a constantly evolving and changing market!
Cool, now who is pitching in?
Seriously, if you do a search, this is not a new idea. Heck there are even reserved domains for such a thing and they all, at least from what my search engine found, are useless or, at best, horribly outdated. Then there are good things like DaBoom & Wolf's Vaping Guides site that is a far cry from a wiki, but packed full of information. (Yes the same DaBoom that penned the Welcome To The Wonderful World of Vaping information series in the ECF library, which is the information I used to get started back when Carlos Juice Boxes still roamed the earth and still #1 on my list of the first thing a newbie should read.)
ECF's New Members sub-forum is more like a mentoring thing and works for what it is. The rest of the sub's each have their own thing going on, except for the Vets sub which is just packed with sillyness. (No, you cannot see the Vet's sub, but this is a good thing, if non-vets were to see what goes on in the vet's sub they may get the wrong idea of what long term vaping does to one's mind.)
Since this is a disscussion site, ebbs and flows on and off topic are common. The admins and mods give a fairly good attempt to keep it organized, but it is like trying to herd cats by using a megaphone to direct 3 year old children dosed with caffine and sugar to the task. But that is what makes ECF great. Yes, I'm serious! ECF is full of good folks who want to help and these folks come from all walks of life. This diversity is what makes things a bit disorganized, but also what allows the New Members, and others, subs to actually work.
While we may all be vapers, none of us is really on the same path in this journey. Here you can find someone close enough to your path that they may have a few pointers that actually work for your path. For example, I don't like cartomizers and if I were to answer questions folks asked about cartomizers and carto-tanks, it would basically consist of, "Throw the darn things away and find something that actually has flavor and vapor density for cryin' out loud already. They suck!" I know cartomizers seem to be what the majority of folks here like, so I don't say that to cartomizer users because they will try to give me tips and techniques to make my carto experience better without realizing I've been trying cartos and all the techniques and tips for over 2 years and still don't like them. That path is nowhere close to my path.
So, what I'm trying to say, with way too many words is ask. Read, read some more, read till nothing sinks in, then come here and ask. Clutter the New Members forum with questions that will embarrass yourself a year later. Ask your most confusing question because someone here has been there before and can help. This is a discussion and without the banter it stops, so ask.
