Quote from article :

"This is a very retrograde step and a huge risk to our tobacco control programs."

Unquote

Translation :

If we'd allow e-cigs, tobacco control programs would soon be unnecessary, because there'd hardly any smokers left to foist our busybodying on. Which would make my cushy job with a fat salary superflous as well. Won't allow that to happen...

Still don't get the logic of banning flavors because a teenager might like it. Like they are against menthol cigarettes. If I would have stole my Moms menthol cigarettes when I was 11, probably wouldn't have taken up smoking! It was a plain old Export A that did me in. These guys are idiots. * Dusty_D - Removing drug related information *

There are some good comments posted but one alone made me cringe. It was this one " E cigarettes are the most effective smoking cessation device I have come across" We are trying hard not to get these regulated as a NRT yet we keep referring to them as such. Vapors above all need to educate themselves before posting information online.

Every single post like this one is a step in the wrong direction.

This is the same bull that Alberta was introducing last year with bill 33. Flavoured tobacco is already banned here and when I made the thread I warned that they would not be the only province to do so. The bill has stalled out here, but now as new provinces are doing this it will likely push it forward. It is not a good trend to set for the country.

I personally think that if Heath Canada wants to push for a federally mandated ban, they should open up clinical testing, rather then listening to the FDA and putting out misinforming statements, or letting provincial governments regulate them themselves.

They keep saying that there is no proof of ecigs benefits, nor harm reduction, yet they are the ones in the position to prove or disprove should they choose.

So Heath Canada and Fraser Valley Health are not interested in Harm Reduction, they have these vitamin pills that look like flintstone characters and they are flavored....... If a child ate the whole bottle at once this could be very dangerous, it also might be a gateway to abusing prescription medication in the future. This is not about health but about the desire to run other peoples lives.

I wonder is Paul van Buynder (what ever is his name) not worry about putting himself on way extremely addicted ppl? Or hi got well paid do not have any fear? That's so sad when 1 person for what ever reason can make decision about so many lives... I'm stacking my juice and i bet my supplier is too... intill next election, when those who will want votes of smokers/exsmokers will pay him more. But by that time government will not get even those little (13% ohhhh nothing) because it will be a massive black market of Juices and devices. Or e-cig dudes will pay to gov "little" piece of that multimillion pie. All about cash, like they don't have ever enough.

How'd I miss this?

I'm glad we've banned the sale of toy guns, alcohol-styled beverages, and skanky clothing. These products are marketed towards our vulnerable youths, and get them used to an lifestyle of violence, booze, and promiscuity. I'm also glad we've controlled the sale of video games containing these things to the extent where there is no way you'll find nine year olds online playing Grand Theft Auto.

Oh wait.

"Worse still, Van Buynder suggested non-nicotine flavoured e-cigarette vaporizers could be a gateway to smoking tobacco."

"flavours like chocolate, peach, cherry and strawberry appeal to youth and reduce the harsh effects of cigarette smoke, making it easier for youth to experiment and become addicted."

Become addicted to non-nicotine e-cig's?

Hmmmmm....:glare:
