This could be obvius to everyone, but one tip on working with tiny deck screws is not to remove them completely, just open them just enough that you fit a wire under them.

That is a good tip, provided you haven't accidentally overdone it to begin with, also depending on the diameter of the wire, it's a really close line between opening it enough, and chasing your screw all over the living room floor. LOL.
