First of all, i love this device. Received mine from you guys just under a week ago (01/18/2011) and have only had to swap out batteries once! Wow is all i can say, the switch from 14500's to 18350's is extremely noticeable. 2.5 days on a EM LR 901 and another 2.5 days on a standard 510 has me convinced. I do have a question though:

Are there a lot of complaints on build quality, as far as durability? I had the Indulgence in my lap and stood up, it rolled down my leg to the floor, a total actual free fall of less than 18 inches, and my 901 connector snapped. Trying to get the other end of the connector out of my atty was fruitless and i've also lost the atty as well. I'm not going to complain and try and whine and try and get my money back, i know it's my own fault for dropped the thing. But i've dropped cheaper units from much higher altitudes, on less forgiving materials, and had them hold up. I used to drop my 901 nearly all the time from waist height (missing my pocket) and i'd dropped my 905 at least a dozen times in the little time that i had it before my tinkering broke it. The only reason i ask is because i don't want to go through the trouble of ordering a new 901 cap just to have it break in another 3 days...didn't think this would be an issue when i ordered it as the picture on the Indulgence V2 product page makes it appear as if the connector is recessed into the cap, whereas on the actual product the atty connector sticks up off the product and exposed to stress.

I appreciate any insight anyone can help me with. Thanks in advance! And I love this product regardless of the troubles i've had with it.

SlimXero,

The Indulgence is what it is. It's an introduction unit into battery mods and allows you to try a wide variety of set ups to really hone in on what you will and will not enjoy. The manufacturer really does seem to focus more on the 510 connector than any other as it's a really sturdy cap, etc. The Indulgence has in fact come a long way from it's V1 but still has a bit more to go. It's a good mod for the price.

There are a couple of options for you bud on a replacement cap or adapter. Just shoot us over an email to sales@vaporjunction.com and we'll get you taken care of.

Thanks

As a owner of an Indulgence I would tell you to get a coule of the 901 caps and to pick up a second button as well which can be used on the pass-through instead of switching all the time. This way you are covered. It's a good PV and dose get you into mods. Also I would get a 901/901 adapter these seems to provide a stronger set-up for your connection once in place you can then not worry about breaking the threads off in your atty's or cartos & avoid damaging the caps.

It's been a month since my Indulgence arrived, and I'm very satisfied. Can't beat the price or the many option variations. I've been on ecigs for 15 months now, and tried many different mods (510,eGo,Ecigar,GLV,Riva, and Ali'i bottom feeder), I just wanted a quick&dirty mod to test different juices & atty's on, and the Indulgence seemed to be the right fit. I knew of all the inherent issues related to the first version and the one's carried over to the lasted version.

With a little TLC, this can be an effective PV:

1. Use Permatex Anti-Seize lubricant on the male threads...one light coat will last for months.

2. Use a little sewing machine oil or baby oil on the switch...again, should last months before the next lube.

3. Thread your atty on your caps before threading the caps to the switch.

4. The titanium finish is gorgeous, but does leave many finger prints. A quick use of an eye glass cleaning cloth returns the finish to beauty.....but, once a week, I will use eye glass cleaner...avoid standard ammonia (Windex).

If you follow these TLC precautions, your Indulgence should last a while, and may be the only PV you ever need.

Good tips VIPOD. I am actually using my Indulgence right now with the new CE2 510 XL Clearomizers. Great combination imo. I use the anti-seize on my threads as well but good to know about the baby oil on the switch. We will be testing this and passing that info along as well. Greatly appreciated.

What................... you don't like the blue hue/tint that the Indulgence gets when cleaned with Windex lol.

I use the 401 every now and then but I dip with it. Dripping is messy imo and the carts for the 401 don't hold enough liquid. Yes it is similar to the 306 as in it's an exposed bridge. The 401 produces excellent flavor but like I said, only good for dipping imo. Definitely not for on the go.

Hey all i just stumbled upon this thread and wanted to ask a few indulgence questions. I actually inherited one from my best friend and it seems to be a good unit but seems to be having a couple problems....He's got it using the 3.7v battery....The battery rattles around which i assume is normal but when using the battery or the PT the vapor production and hit seems to be unreliable at best. I've also noticed if i push the battery REALLY hard it for a few seconds before puffing it it works a little better....I was looking at possibly ordering a new button in the near future but wanted to ask for advice before spending $20 i dont really have at the moment.

I also wanted to ask he's got the 3.7v battery in it now but i want to get the 6v batteries instead. Do they use the same size tube or do i have to buy a new tube thing too??

any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Seem like a lot of quality issues being dismissed because of the price.
That doesn't seem right. Its still 60 bucks of hard earned money.

I say pony up 30 more and you can get some dam good mods in the 90 dollar range.
Most people that get the indulgence are going to get a better mod in the future so why not save the 60 bucks and jump right into a quality piece?

Your right.

That being said and not wanting to just take a loss on a $60 PV, here are some things that really helped me with the Indulgence. This process is for the inveterate tinker, not a good unit to start learning on as far as dis-assembly. First I took the switch by itself and disassembled it. On the battery side there is a white plastic disk with the battery terminal in the middle and 2 small holes towards the outer rim. A pair of snap-ring pliers help in unscrewing this disk but something to grab those holes and unscrew is all you need. Now unscrew the top, or removable cap side. Once the atomizer cap is removed you will see that the top contact is mounted in a plastic bar that is threaded onto the switch body. Grab a pliers and unscrew this contact holding that plastic bar. Be careful here as this contact is a spring loaded plunger, just pay attention so it goes back together the same way it came apart. At this point you can see the naked switch and switch contacts. What I did was to make sure that the switch legs were bent enough outwards to make solid contact with both the top and bottom brass contact buttons when reassembled. Everything that makes a contact point gets a coating of Noalox which is just conductive anti-seize, Home-Depot has it, Lowe's and Amazon have it, get it. 2 of the switch legs need a light coat of Noalox and needed bending to enhance contact, just to drive this home. Put a light coating of Noalox on back of the brass contacts you unscrewed, make sure the little piston contact from the top is well coated, spring and all, and reassemble. DO NOT put anti-seize on the plastic insert threads. Once you have the switch housing back together ALL threaded surfaces get Noalox, atomizer caps and battery cup. The only other thing you could do at this point would be to get a copper spring for the battery cup, Altsmoke sells Omega hot-springs that fit I hear. I have not tried it.

This was harder to write that to actually do, if you have some mechanical acumen, this is a snap.

and all the 30 extra dollars gets you is the pv now lets say 6 for the atty 15 for the charger and 12 to 15 for the batts depending on what you want to go with seems to me that the price is double not just 30 but 60 for a similar as you would say quality mod but i have had no problems with mine and i really cant see any in the future .....now there are alot more quality mods on the market but a little care and cleaning and this is a great mod for finding your personal sweet spot....which is just like juice.....everyones tastes are very different.................

What ohm attys, cartomizers, etc. are you guys using on your Indulgence?

I've cleaned the battery compartment, oiled the switch, etc.... everything but replacing the spring and still have to use 1.5 ohms on 3.7 volts to get any performance out of it and even then it is still a little cool. I regularly use 3.7 volt box mods with 2.0-2.5 ohm attys and cartomizers but still can't duplicate the same vaping experience on the Indulgence. Tried the 1.5 ohm atty on my box mods and it is way too hot for me. I've metered out the individual parts of the Indulgence and the culprit seems to be a very high resistance switch. My next step is to maybe try a different switch or just stay with 1.5 ohms on it as I really don't want to go 6 volts if I can keep from it.

A Silver Bullet or an Omega from Altsmoke. They are the standard of excellence really. Durable, well made, beautiful. Mechanical art.

A roughstack or Midi vapestack from Madvapes are extremely solid as well.

BH...or anyone for that matter..... If someone wanted to go with a higher quality... what would you suggest.??
