Hi eeveryone
So I've started on ecigarettes and really finding it the best thing I've ever done!!

So what I've done, is I went to the doctor and got nicotine patches. 3 mth course. So I wear a patch every day to get my nicotine, and I'm vaping 0mg juice. The patches will go down in strength over the 3 mths till I'm off them altogether, and I just keep vaping on my 0mg e juice.

So far I'm 10 days in. No cravings, nothing. I'm feeling great!!

anyone else doing this method or have done this method? How did it work out for you?

cheers!

The patches cost me around $1 per day. I'm in Australia and if we go through a doctor we get a medical benefit from the Government which reduces the cost. Over the counter the patches are about $30 dollars for 1 week supply, but with a prescription from the doc, it comes down to about $30 dollars a month, so yes whilst a little more cost involved, for $1 a day to get me off nicotine after 3 mths, I'm ok with that. Hoping it continues to work ;)

If your method works for you, great! Whatever gets you off of cigarettes. :thumb:

For me, the patches or gum used alone just didn't cut it. I missed the hand-to-mouth ritual and the feeling of smoke in my lungs and blowing it out.

The only problem that might arise with your method is what will you do if you get a cigarette craving? Rubbing on the patch will not release more nicotine into your system any faster. With a nicotine e-liquid, you can vape harder and more often to get past that nicotine craving much easier. Once the craving passes, you could return to your 0 nic strength juices.

It might be worth your while to have a juice with nicotine available just for when this situation happens.

Good luck to you, I hope it works out! Don't beat yourself up if the patch doesn't work for you, it's not for everyone. It bothered my skin big time and wasn't as time release as I was hoping, seemed to dump all the nicotine at once and made my heart race. Big time bummer for me at the time.
I'm not sure but I don't think you can get nic liquids in Australia? You'd have to order from out of country but it's still a heck of a lot better than smoking!

Greetings from Canada! Welcome to ECF!

My sis-in-law and her BF used the same method you are (in July) and it worked Great for them. A few rough spots but that's what quitting is! Every day is not the same, some are bound to be easier than others. They didn't want to be dependent on nicotine, so they chose their own combination to beat it. Worked for them!

They still vape on their Volts but not nearly as much as I do. I helped them find the Volts. It really hurt when I had to bite my tongue because I wanted to tell them how they should do things. We are all different and we have to find what works for us.

I know this will work for you, if you want it to.

Relax, Enjoy!
