Out in the middle of Nowhere
Well, I tried yesterday to go cold turkey off of nicotine, and it didn't work. I smoked 4 analogs and I've smoked about the same already this morning. So I've ordered some nicotine ejuice and it should be here 2-5 days from now. In the meantime I'm going to go to town this morning and get some patches, to last me until it gets here. I was trying the nicotine gum and ecig with no nicotine, but the gum basically kills any flavor sensations I would get with the ecig. So that's no good. I seem to do fine with 14 mg patches, so I guess when I get my juice I'll start mixing it in at 14 mg to start with and slowly start weaning myself down. Does anyone know whether the nicotine in ejuice has the same body absorption rate as patches? ( Of course with the ejuice I won't be getting it as constant as with the patch, I realize that ) Somehow I doubt that any studies have been done on this yet, but if someone here knows I'd appreciate the input.
I guess step 1 of this whole process for me will be to get completly off the analogs!! I'm making that my Step 1 goal.

Also, what should I know about using caution in mixing juice with nicotine? I've heard it's very toxic and you should try to keep from getting it on your hands, and leakage from the cartomizer. Appreciate the suggestions.

I was a pretty heavy smoker, so was worried about how much nicotine to add to my juices, went with 10 - 12mg (usually less) as I don't really want to trade addictions. I usually put less and less in each mix, its more in my head for me, just knowing there is nic in the juice (no matter how strong) seems to do it for me. I love vaping though, hopefully I will be vaping zero nic in a few months and just worrying about the tastes, so many good flavors.

Right, patches, gum, cigarettes, and vapor are all different with absorbtion.

I usually tell folks to get ahold of a selection of nicotine strengths and flavors so they can find for themselves what works and what doesn't. I had to start above 36mg myself and I am now at 20mg, but when I first started I discovered I needed different strengths at different times of the day.

If you want to mix, make sure to hit all the sticky's at DIY E-Liquid My blog has some pointers and the folks that hang out in the DIY sub are fairly friendly.

Don't let yourself be pressured by stop smoking to much - I keep on smoking 2-3 cigarettes a day for almost 1 week. After another week I even stopped vaping nicotine liquids. Buy some high strength liquid and some 0 of the same taste, so you are able to mix the strength you need. Be happy about your success - smoke less is already a big one ;) - and dont worry about "failures". I belive this is the best way to get rid of analogs. Good lcuk :)

Thanks for the input and encouragement folks!:) I ordered the 60mg nicotine non-flavored so I can dilute it down to what I want/need for now. I figured if I got the highest strength it would last longer! I've just got home from town and put my patch on, so I can spit out this gum and start tasting flavors again! I'm a bit nervous about mixing my own stuff...kind of makes me feel like singing that song about 'mix it up in the kitchen sink' But I've found a calculator that will help me figure out how to dilute the nicotine and proper amounts of PG/VG, and flavoring. Thank goodness I live on a farm! I already have plenty of needles and syringes! lol! Guess if I need to get anything else it'll be a graduated cylinder. maybe in the future with that purchase. Anyway, thanks alot and I'll be sure to check out the info on DIY forum! One good thing about making your own is if the 14 mg dosen't work out I can always add a drop or two to the mix.

BTW Hoosier, I live in pokey-doke Carbon, IN. Don't even try to find it on a atlas! lol! Just look for Brazil, IN (they might have that listedd) and run your finger about 1/2 inch north..I'm there! Out in the middle of NOWHERE! lol!

You might be surprised that I know the area. I dated a girl that went to Turkey Run high school once upton a time. (Boy howdy, that was many moons ago.) There is some kind of creek or river north of you that has a stream that feeds it through a water fall that I remember for probably all the wrong reasons. (Can't remember if it was north or south of Rockville?)

You should talk, I moved out of New London because it had too much traffic.

I was smarter than you and knew how weak I am so I bought the nicotine (24mg) just didn't buy extra batteries so there I was back on the cigs (just a few). I ordered the batteries last night. Yeah yesterday was my first day and I have to say it went much better than I had anticipated. At least we are trying!!

Thanks bigtime..I will be very careful. Since living and working on a farm I'm pretty used to dealing with toxic chemicals. I already have gloves, eye protection, masks, and will do the nico part outside.

NOW! Gotta say this!!!

YUM YUM BUBBLE GUM!! I got my pg juice today and added it to some 50/50 that I already had and I can TASTE it!!!:):):)
Now I know what you guys are all raving about!!! I'z sooo excited!!!!:banana:
