Thoughts on Whiskey

I've tried 3 whiskey flavored e-liquids and they do not taste anything like whiskey. So I want to pass an idea by this wealth of knowledge and experience before I attempt to make my own. I'm thinking of evaporating the alcohol and most of the water out of real whiskey and mixing with PG, VG and Nicotine. It may be a relatively expensive e-juice but if it tastes like whiskey I'm OK with that. What say ye?

I've never tried it, but my concern would be the sugars that are in Whiskey clogging up the wick and gunking up your coil. Not saying you shouldn't try it though, sounds interesting.

I have used straight up bourbon in some of my mixes, 1-2% adds a little something that I like.

I tried it with Fireball, the cinnamon whiskey and it clogged the wick and coated the coil with charred sugar within half a milliliter. I expected that due to the sweetness of the Fireball. Here in Washington state it's hard to find those little airplane size bottles of booze thanks to taxation schemes. I don't even see half-pints anymore and since I don't drink It's hard to justify dropping $30 on a 750ml bottle of JD as a test. If someone has done this with success, please throw out some advice.

Try adding some TFA red oak to your whiskey.
