Hey Guys ...

A warning to please please PLEASE be careful when threading Stainless Steel adapters on to old aluminum pieces .... Threads are identical, but if you accidentally cross thread -- there is no turning back.

So PLEASE be very careful when you first (and every attempt for that matter) attempt to thread on the new adapters ...

Steel is a bit more hard than Aluminum :) Those using your old Aluminum Adapters ... Again, be very careful when first attempting to thread on SS Protege Tubes ...

For those wondering ...
SS-303 was used on Adapters and Endcaps
SS-304 was used on Tubes

The difference between the 2 ... 303 is a bit softer ...

Enjoy your Protege's guys and gals!

+1 ...

You may want to try adding a lubricating substance ... oil/grease/etc... and retrain. May be a slow process, but I have seen many aluminum on aluminum threads come back to life :)

Remember ... back it up (twist wrong way to set it) then thread.

=) And you will feel resistance as you retrain. As long as the cap is exactly level on the tube; ignore the resistance and do as instructed. You will probably have to press down pretty hard as you screw the adaptor on.

NOALOX, love the stuff and cheap as well. LOWES will have it in the electrical isle for $2.98 for .5oz. Will work wonders on any threads. Sorry to jump in but nothing worse than locked up threads :)

P.S.
Been wanting to say it ever since Bandit posted the pictures, but damn the SB and PD really compliment one another well :)

Go to the bathroom and get the bar of soap from the shower. Rub it on the threads. This the cheapest solution to the problem and everyone has some. At least I hope so...

I've been using it on both my Prodigy and SB and it works good and keeps it clean too...

Interesting .... PG Based Soap as Lube .... Nice vapnaway ...

I ordered a new one, and a bottle of cash cola. I've heard good things about it

haha ... Sounds good Jager .... Hope you enjoy

I bought the NOALOX at Lowe's for my SB and it is AWESOME. My threads begun to sieze a little bit within 24 hours of receiving my SB, and since I could not get to a Lowe's right away, I used Break-Free (gun lubricant) and it worked very well. But I did buy the NOALOX and it is thicker (so each application will last longer) and it works tremendously well.

Thanks! :)

What is this "soap" you guys are talking about and where do I get some? I just want something I can get at the store, I'm tired of ordering everything online. Thanks for all the help guys, I'm not messing with anything until I get my Protege though. The Prodigy is my only vape, I don't want to break anything until I have a backup.
