I have three Vamo V5 s, just one with really annoying issue: After changing the battery (not only does it need to be turned back on like the other two) but it resets to displaying voltage, when I hold both buttons to bring up the menu and change it from "Voltage" to "Power" it is now on the lowest power setting (3.0W). My other two Vamos "remember" (even through I have to turn them back on that they should display wattage and what wattage setting they were on). Even through they are all extremely similar I'm guessing that no two of them were made in the same factory.

Anyone else know anything about this or what I might do? Should I just buy another one? I don't like changing the atomizer any more than necessary because I know the treads are brass and will eventually wear out. I do like the Vamo (well two of them), one is almost "perfect" (stainless steel coating version - but not every 510 atomizer will successfully connect with it), one is black and picks up scratches very easily and the finish is wearing off and the third has this problem. I'm thinking two of them may be clones and the only real one is the one with the bad finish :)

Any insight appreciated.

Are you turning it off before removing the battery?

Sometimes. I just tried that (turning it off) and if I change the battery as fast as my hands can move I'm OK. I tried it again (turning it off, removing the battery, replacing it and turning it on), leaving the battery out a little longer (with it turned off first) and it had forgotten everything again. So turning it off doesn't before removing the battery doesn't seem to make a difference.

Then you got me...........

I am only a recent Vamo owner but have read they could have different boards and differing firmware versions. Sounds like the memory is bleeding off either by a defect or an omission in design.

Curious whether others have experienced this. I am going to check mine right now. Mine does save the settings.

Curious where you got it.

Yes, it must have been made on a Monday or a Friday :) Oh well, they are not that expensive (and really good for what they do) so not worth the hassle of shipping it back, etc. If you PM me I'll tell you where I got it but would rather not publicly as I don't hold the supplier responsible, everything else I got from them seems OK, even this Vamo V5 works great, it just most often resets to out of the box mode when you change the battery which is especially annoying because I know it's not suppose to do that as my other two work ok. Guess I was hoping there was a "trick" to saving the settings. Of course it goes back to "mean" mode also, and to change that you have to hold the minus button in for longer than 10 seconds to get it back to RMS so the whole process (of setting it back to VW from VV, selecting the wattage and changing it to RMS mode takes quite a while. There is another special key sequence to make it display a number that is suppose to prove it is authentic but I can't find that info close at hand.

You just click on the user and one of the menu options is send private message - sent.

Yeah, two of mine won't do that (holding all three buttons down), one does so I guess I got two clones and a real one.
I like the clone (that remembers it's settings) just fine :) The display is "simpler" but it works just fine.

Mine will reset if I turn it off B4 changing the battery but keeps memory if I don't turn it off first ....why, I have no idea but it works.

One odd thing I have noticed it every so often it's like it put out full power for one vape and I get a burnt hit ... YUCK! Not completely sure if it's the Vamo or my PT2 gets an air bubble trapped.

Anyone else have this happen?
