Increasing voltage does give more throat hit, but it must be balanced with the right resistance of atomizer... it all comes down to wattage. Lower resistance with the same voltage = higher throat hit. Increased voltage on the same resistance, same thing. Thats why I love variable wattage... you can use any resistance atomizer, and dial in your favorite wattage. With my Darwin, I get great performance on cheap chinese bulk atomizers for around a buck fifty each.
One thing you could try is adding either menthol drops or koolada (a menthol derivative) to your juice. That always works wonders for me

I stumbled onto Vapor Bomb's Cinnabomb when I first started vaping and was desperately wanting a good throat hit. That did it for me. It's way too harsh for me now, but it might be worth a try.

You can always increase the PG and add some alcohol. But there are enhancers out there also. You will get more heat from the highter voltage, but that does not mean you will get more throat hit. A lower nic will not give as much as the high nic levels.

I haven't craved a ciggie in the last 6 months like I'm craving one right now!!! I'm dyin' here. I can't get a satisfying hit today no matter what I try - 306 and 510 1.5 attys...no go. 2.0 carto...worse! Fresh battery. Different mod. Different juice. Added everclear. Crap!

Up your nic for a few drips, that usually does it for me. I am at 6 but still keep 8-12 just for those days. And yes they do come every few months.
I keep a DC carto filled with 36mg FSUSA Purecig menthol and a 6v battery set-up for those times. I know it doesn't help you right now, but hang in there.
If there is a tobacco store that carries Swedish Snus (not the US made crap) pick up some General Snus (I like White Portion Dry Mini Mint). It will give you a nic buzz. Seriously.

LiquidXpress Taboo has the most slaying TH of any juice I've tried.
Its my all day. I could never describe the flavor very well I used to just tell people it was throat hit flavored
But Rob tried it and he mentioned he thought it was peppery ... I never thought about it, or noticed a pepper flavor but that might have something to do with the amazing TH.
Its supposed to be a RY4 (caramel vanilla tobacco) ... not sure about that but it is the most satisfying juice I've found.

I kicked my nic from 18mg to 30ish and got one hell of a buzz. I also added quite a bit of rum to my juice. Thank heavens for good friends that talked me down!! I've got ciggies here in the house but they remain unopened.
So, there's no silver bullet to get a ciggie-like TH?

Not that I have found so far, but the nic bump always gets me through it. Not sure I would go as far as you did, but hey it worked that is all that matters.
I have days I cant get enough I end up running one of my mods at 6 volts or I use one of my vv units its always temporary .Oh I do have some higher Nic that always helps .
I found the best juice for me is 24mg 70pg/30vg at around 5.5v. It did take me a while to find my perfect combo. Also different juices with the same specs hit differently...you really have to experiment. Good luck!
EDIT: ONCE you find that combo that's right for you, you will NEVER think about analogs again...it gets that good.

I threw most of a carton under the sink in my hurricane kit, Terry. At the time, I just had 2 eGo batteries and the big ol' spinny thingies can take the power out for days or weeks. I like having smokes in the house. In the past when I tried to quit, if I was out of smokes, I'd hop in the truck and go buy some. Once I drove to the store, I always opened the pack and..well...so much for quitting. Having them here negates that response. Now I simply make a conscious choice. Even as rough as the ride got yesterday, I chose to leave them right where they are. Cool.

Actually...I still have smokes in the house too. Its the proverbial safety net...will I ever smoke them? No. But its a nice reminder for me. This may have and adverse affect on someone else, but its the same way I quit another habit that wasn't legal. It works for me. And I'm nearly ready to toss them too.

I have a half pack from July, 2010, up in the cupboard. It's my safety net....my security blanket. For a long, long time I needed to know they were there. Now, I think I could toss them with no problem. Just shows ya how much of smoking was psychological.
I gave my last pack to some guys out front of wall mart one day. They looked like they needed some help

I have to be honest here I guess. I still have 1 cig I stashed away a long time ago but forgot about it until you mentioned you had some in the house. I'm reluctant to throw it away but I don't really know why because I know I'll never smoke it. I guess it's like others said, it's reassuring. But that's kind of silly too because there is a store just 3 blocks away that sells smokes.
