I guess I'm the dissenting opinion. I think you can replicate the throat hit of nicotine with no nicotine with ginger. I cut a piece of ginger root into small pieces and dried it at 170 degrees, then added the ginger to a jar and filled with PG. I let it steep 24 hours strained and vaped. I was shocked at the throat hit, even made mental note when I am ready for 0 mg, ginger will be what I vape. I will also mention I tried this because I love ginger, but also I read some research that says ginger may help people stop smoking. Now this research wasn't talking about vaping, just that ginger is known to help with upset stomach and now some believe that it may have properties that help relieve the cravings of nicotine addiction.

It packs quite a throat hit by the way and if you aren't used to vaping 36 mg 100% PG I would dilute the extract. I found the straight extract to have a similar but slightly stronger throat hit than 100% PG 36 mg nicotine.

Then your idea of throat hit and that of 95% of all other vapers is totally different.

If all it took was putting a little ginger root in eliquid to duplicate the throat hit from nicotine, every eliquid maker would be doing it and 0 nicotine eliquid with ginger root would be flying off the shelf.

Throat irritation, yes. (Diablo loco or chilli seeds steeped in pg/vg)
Throat hit, no.

Well stated. Those who state that they can duplicate the throat hit from nicotine through some "additive" in the eliquid defy all common sense. If this was possible, everyone would know about it, it would not be a secret and that eliquid would be out-selling all others.

I'm skeptical, too. But I have a few hundred ml of VG lying around, and some fresh ginger from last night's Ginger Tare Grilled Chicken.

Ima try it over the weekend.

Give it a try. I have no problem with people trying additives in eliquid to make vaping 0 nic eliquid more satisfying. For some (a relatively small percentate), there may be enough "throat stimulation or irritation" to allow them to vape 0 nic eliquid and be satisfied. And unless some miracle additive comes along, I just don't want some new person to think that these additives duplicate the throat hit from nicotine and then be disappointed that it doesn't work for them and get discouraged. Considering the rather benign nature of nicotine for most people combined with the vaping goal of staying free of analogs, getting to 0 nic in eliquid, to me, is pretty far down on the priorities list.

Hm...I had read that pg is thinner thus carries the flavor more where as vg was thicker thus less flavor but more cloud thus mor th
But searching online states pg gives more th because its thinner it gives warmer vape to give th

PG and VG: Throat Hit, Vapor, and Consistency
Nice percentage chart listed.

Amount of visible vapor has no connection with throat hit. VG provides more visible vapor. And just an FYI, since many people confuse this point, neither PG or VG provide ANY throat hit. They simple allow more of it to come through or mute it.

I have yet to see what anyone is talking about with "TH" I vape 24-36mg liquid all day ranging from 100% PG to 99% vg and I have never felt any sort of hit in my throat. Now any time somebody else I know tries one of my e-cigs (smokers, not vapers), they always practically choke on the inhale.

I think i'm just immune to TH.

If you step down slowly you will get used to it. I started at 18 and stayed there for about 6 months. Then I stepped down to 12. After about a month I tried some 18 mg and couldn't even vape it cause it was too strong!

Now if you try to jump from 18 to 0 then you will be disappointed. Just step down every few months and it shouldn't be such a shock.

Yeah, I've been stepping down a couple MG with each new batch I mix. I started in the 40's

I was always under the impression that the recommended highest nic level was 36mg due to any higher being potentially toxic?. Thus some manufacturers only offer up to 24mg.

Obviously you could have any strength you want, since you mix your own but you get my point. :toast:

Yeah. I smoked from the time I was 10 until my 34th birthday. Towards the end, I was going through over a pack of smokes and a half a can of 22mg/g snus per day. I still use the snus regularly. One of those pouches is enough to make the average person shake and sweat within minutes. I blended my own to that strength to satisfy my own needs. Highest I've been able to buy off the shelf was 36. I certainly would not suggest that much nicotine to anybody!

It has to be much higher than 36 to be toxic. Njoy just came out with a 45mg strength eliquid cartridge.

I find that menthol flavor imitates the feeling of a throat hit.

It doesn't duplicate the throat hit provided by nicotine, but of all the additives I have used, it probably is the best additive to provide a throat sensation that would allow the use of 0 nic eliquid and still feel something that is not harsh and burning like many additives trying to unsuccessfully mimic TH from nicotine.

That's crazy. I understand the whole better than analogs but that's such a high level of nicotine.

Njoy is not going to take a chance in providing something that will harm someone. It's a good bit more than I use or need, but we are all different with different needs to stay clear of analogs.
