Did you just start using a juice with higher PG in the ratio (lets more nicotine hit through), or higher nicotine, or cinnamon or pepper in the juice (another throat irritant) or start using a stronger battery or LR cartos (hotter), or dual coils (double vapor)? Because I can't imagine what after 2 months would suddenly make your throat sore if you haven't changed anything unless you started vaping more or were not staying hydrated.

Nicotine is a fairly strong skin irritant. Having some VG in your juice can help buffer that. But you still have to stay hydrated. And if you are overdoing vaping, consider a lower nic level for times when you are vaping a lot. I use 80PG/20VG in cartos but when I was on higher nic I use 70PG/30VG and my cartos didn't last quite as long.

Note though - there seems to be a lot of flu and strep throat around based on how many people on social networks seem to be sick. So that is also a possibility, especially if you have school age kids or sick relatives/coworkers.

When I switched to bigger carts, I began filling them with 80%pg because I knew my high vg wouldn't do well in a cartomizer. same thing happened to me. I now fill with the 80% to assure maximum saturation but refill with 30-40%vg. Once it had become saturated it does a better job wicking higher vg and as long as I don't use 80% for more than a day, I'm fine.

The most likely cause is pg and you should try using a much lower or no pg to see if that is the reason. It could be almost anything in the juice. Flavoring would be next but nicotine and vg could also be causing it. Or as dormouse said it could just be that you have a sore throat and vaping makes it worse.
Personally I have that problem with anything over 50pg/50vg. Even at that level I may get a sore that if I vape more than 3ml or so a day. Vanilla also irritates my throat. I can't vape it anymore. I don't use nicotine.

Email the vendor and ask what the PG/ VG ratio is and as mentioned drink lots of water- I drink 2 glasses in the a.m. and 2 liters per day. Also try not to draw too hard on the PV. Also what ohms/ size are your cartos? LR 1.5 cartos are a warm/ hot vape.

I am still fairly new at this vaping, I have been purchasing my e liquid pre-mixed, I believe it is a mixture of VG & PG. I have a Riva 510. I have noticed that if I vape a lot, that's when it gets scratchy. Thanks for you guys help!!!

Scratchy throat lately for me too and coughing. Switched to no nic juice in the evenings that helped with better sleep but not the irritation. I vape 80pg/20vg menthol koolada wintergreen 100 proof and a drop of cinnamon. Last night I ran plain pg/vg through the carto I had been using all day. The menthol etc flavor gradualy dissipated (Talk about boring, phew. LOL.) and so did the irritation. Didn't cough when I went to bed. But at least I know its not the pg or vg. Will start adding flavoring back this evening to narrow the culprit down. Note to self-DRINK MORE WATER!

I had issues with Ethyl Maltol aka Cotton Candy a sweetener used in juices. Sore throat and cankers in mouth. Stopped using watermelon and all was well, Gave it to a friend and they had no issues at all.

Glad this topic is in here. Woke up this morning with what feels like strep throat. Am sure it's from vaping a lot yesterday.

This happened once before with the Pink Spot flavored juice, 24 mg PG / VG, but not sure the ratio. I'm using LR Boge 2.0 cartos with my Ego T.

Bummed bc I've really dug my setup.. but maybe too much :) .
But the first time this happened, I really did get really sick for over a week, which is really unusual for me. I hope that doesn't happen this time.

Now that I have preventative measures, any remedies? Feels like knives when I swallow. ;/

What is the best combination between PG(flavor),VG(vapor) and NIC?? To start out with...:vapor:

EVERYTHING about juice is a personal preference after trial and error, but for the ratio, it makes sense to start with 100% PG or 50/50, and a small bottle of plain VG and then just play around with it.

Where to start in nic strength will have to do with what strength and how much tobacco you smoked. Then for a while at least, you'll probably need a small bottle a bit higher in nic to get you over those cravings.

Best wishes!!!
