On old eGo and Evod batteries...always thumb to push the button. On MVP 2.0 Shine mod with button on the wide front/back of it, thumb or index finger...depending upon if anyone cares to see the Swarovski crystal design on it or not. eleaf iStick Mini 10w...always thumb, so I can see the readout window numbers while vaping.

I have noticed that there is not a consistent placement of which side the button is on box mods. Even the same company puts the button on different sides on different models. For instance, Joyetech puts the button on the same side as the atomizer on the evic VTC mini, but on the other side on the grip. Eleaf switches it on the istick 30w and the istick basic. No rhyme or reason. Coolfire--opposite the tank. Subbox---same side as the tank.

I'm not saying that this is even something I consider when buying a mod, but it is something I notice when using it. That makes me curious what others think.

So I prefer that the tank is on the same side as the button and I prefer to use my thumb. What say you?
It doesn't even matter to me. Sometimes finger, sometimes thumb!!

I notice when I pick up my mod, my index finger and thumb are directly in the position to hit the button no matter what side the button lands on.

Sometimes the thumb hits the button, sometimes my index finger.

Edit: I find that if the index is hitting the button, I turn the mod so the thumb is the worker.

Huh. Just looked at my mods sitting on my desk in front of me and they're all aligned with the button facing me, and the thumb is winning this round. :D
Since I only use one mod, if I happen to be doing stuff then coming back and picking it up, the button can be in any position.

I've actually noticed that if I don't feel the button, when picking it up, my finger or thumb slides up to feel where it is.

I fire box mods with my pointer finger. I fire my 4Nines with the first knuckle of my pinky.

I never paid that much attention, but checked and atty location is tied at 2 and 2 for me. Due to numbness being worse in my fingers, I am all  when it comes to firing my mods. Biggest problem I have right now is grabbing my mod without paying close attention, pressing with my thumb, taking a big 'ol toke, and getting nothing cause I was holding the mod backwards. Pressing the side sans button does not work well.

"And now for something completely different"..........

I think they're both good...bad is when there's no paper at all :(... and nobody around to give you change for a twenty

FIFY :D

I always use my thumb to fire no matter which side the atty is on although I prefer it on the button side. If I happen to pick up my mod backwards I always turn it around so I fire with my thumb. Using the index finger to fire feels very awkward.

Of course the exception to that rule is my Xcube 2 which requires the 4 finger press, but the atty is still closer to me in that configuration.
