Time for a change

Hello everyone, I've been using a vision spinner 1300 mah with smok rbc/gbc bcc or the evod. I've noticed sometimes i get great hits off this device and at other times they are very sub par. I'm confused why this happens. A few great draws then a couple weak using the same voltage and clear. Good news is i have the mvp 2.0 coming here in a couple days. Is it time to move up to an atomizer? Will that make things more consistent? Also what atty comes at a decent price for a beginner like me? I like having a glass tank. The all metal makes me nervous not being able to see my juice right now. I've seen pics of the AGA-T2 atomizer. Would that be a good start? I've read about rebuilding for awhile now so i feel comfortable in that aspect of it. Thanks for the replies and Vape Strong!

I can't chime in on the use of an atomizer, but I currently have a Vision Spinner 1300 and have experienced the same issues.

Thinking about saying screw it and going straight to a Provari.

I wish I had done that from the start. It would have taken care of one half the equation right away. Then there is the delivery system.

You should check out the kayfuns/russians/clones. They are a great place to start and are easy to build. All you need is some wire and some cotton. The clones are 20 dollars and up and the authentics can run 100+. I think clones would be a good place for you to start out and if you really like them then you can move up from there. Good Luck! The AGA-T2 is a Genesis-style rebuildable atomizer, which can give you an off-the-charts vaping experience, but it's very difficult to learn how to build a proper mesh wick and coil setup, maybe not the best beginners RBA choice, unless you've got good mechanical skills.

Building a Kayfun (or KF clone) coil is much easier, and you can get an excellent vape from this device. But you may want to have a reliable clearomizer as a backup while you're getting up to speed. I haven't tried the Aerotank, but there are lots of newer clearomizers which are pretty good (PT2 or PT3, Davide, Aspire BDCC, etc).

BTW have you tried replacing the coil on your EVOD? Do you get the same sort of inconsistent vape even with a new coil?

AGA-T2 is a bit of a leap. Genesis and all that....

Stick a Kayfun on a Zmax (or something) and get vaping.

I've been thinking about getting a RBA and was wondering if the experience is so much better than a clearomizer then how disappointed will I be going back to a clearomizer for on the go? As I've read the RBA's can be a pain on the go.

Hmm. I understand you concern. I use RBAs at home and then load up a clearomiser for out and about. (or even grab my cig-a-likes, depending on my confidence at any time!!)

If your RBA goes down in action, you are messed up, obviously, unless you carry a kit. (not me...)

I can't say the disappointment of vaping on something "less good" bothers me in any way. I guess like having a nice meal once a day and then buying a sandwich or coffee from a convenience store.

My home atomizers are v.v. large (if you ask me) and I put them on a large mod.
On a Spinner (or iTastevv as well now), I'll use a small clearo.

Thanks for all of the responses! I really appreciate all of the feedback. No I haven't recoiled the clearos yet (waiting on my order of Kenthal) I'm thinking of trying to micro-coil the heads when I get the wire. I hear that really helps out a clearomizer! Only reason I didn't want to jump right into a Kayfun or something like that is because of price. Would really like one but I don't have the extra funds at the moment. Thanks everyone!

Might just be that you're chain vaping, and the topper can't keep enough liquid on the coil. Especially likely if the coil is starting to gunk up. A clean and dry burn can correct that, or just replacing the coil.

I think you should consider either the Kafun or Taifun clones.
The Kaifuns I have from TOBEGO are really quite good and the Taifun HCIGAR is also exceptional.
Once you build a micro coil with cotton you are really going to enjoy the experience.
If you want a recommendation for a Clearo I have been very pleased with the Aspire Natalus.
They are a bit hard to find but worth the effort.

Several good choices really.

Entry level APV's

1. Sigelei V3/V5 - telescoping, great build quality, the most expensive, but the best, imho (YMMV)
2. The iTaste 3.0 - ego like in size, but a full featured APV (ohms checker, vv/vw, etc.), underpowered at 5.0 volts (but overpowered compared with an ego-like battery, a valid comparison)
3. MVP2 - This second edition is very good. Box mod with long battery life, 5.0 Volt/11 Watt limitation (under powered compared to many APV's)
4. SVD - telescoping, good quality, bulky
5. Vamo V? - Good entry level APV, very popular for the longest time. Suggest stainless steel. Rated 5th because there have been quality control issues, and build quality issues. Can be hit or miss.
6. Many other China Mods

Most of these Chinese made APV's are going to require batteries and a charger and that can blow the budget you have in mind. If you don't consider those, then the Sigelei is by far my favorite APV under $100. YMMV.

Toppers include the Nautilus and AeroTank, the Protanks and Carto tanks. Carto tanks are pretty good and I preferred them for a long time over the clearomizers. The new AFC clearos, though, are really good. The Nautilus would be my first choice. A $100 budget would get you a great kit. Get the best vape gear you can, or build your kits/setups one piece at a time. Makes a huge difference on vape quality. Good luck and welcome to the Forum!

Thanks for the replies. My next MOD will be a mumu DIY dna 30 but that will be later on this year. The way things are going they'll have a DNA 100 by then lol. I'm still up in the air about the RBA i want. Just have to research more. The AGA-T2 is nice but i don't really care for those vertical coils with mesh.
