Time for an Upgrade. Suggestions?

I'm going to go back to what I said earlier. Everyone is suggesting a mod, either mechanical or VV/VW with an 800 or 900mah, 18350 0r 14500, battery to keep it small. That's actually a step back from your 1300mah Spinner. The only way to actually increase vape time, significantly, is to use a much larger battery or a stack of 18350's.

A VV/VW using a single 18350 is at a real disadvantage when it comes to battery charge life. The boost circuit is not particularly efficient and current draw is actually quite high even at modest power levels. I've measured as high as 2.6 amps using a single, nominal, 3.7 volt battery in the 7 to 10 watt range. Given that smaller batteries are under 1000mah, battery life will be quite short no matter what their maximum discharge rate might be.

From what you have said and described, seems to me you might really like a variable power/variable wattage device with changeable batteries. The go-to entry level APV is the Vamo V3 (stainless is very nice). Used in 18350 battery mode, it's quite small, about the height of the Twist (a bit more), and a little bit wider (14mm vs 22mm). You won't run out of battery life as you can change the batts as often as required to get you through the day. The $58 Fasttech kit comes to mind, and includes a good charger and good batteries. So, a big +1 to those previous posts along the same lines. The Protank and Davide glassomizer are, perhaps, the best clearos in the market today, certainly amongst the most popular now. On a Vamo, you just get a great vape on this setup. Add juice and you're ready to rock and roll. Best to you!

Has anyone actually run a full test on those batteries? From what I have seen ego and all the others are Chinese mAh's in other words grossly overestimated. Same for every one of the ----fire batteries. They make fake wrappers and put junk cells in them. Go with actual AW 14500's and carry an extra set in your pocket or purse or whatever. You will have enough vape time and not have a big clumsy mod to use. As for 18650's same deal use real batteries like Panasonics/Sanyo bought from a place like Fast Tech who actually has them tested.

I think the point you might be missing is that some people don't want a large device period but carrying an extra set of small 14500 batteries is nothing really. With the cost of PV's being so cheap now compared with a few years ago I don't understand why ego's are still popular at all. I would however recommend always using first rate batteries. None of the trustfire or ultrafire etc batteries should be trusted at this point, 99% of them are complete and total junk and dangerous. In fact you would be better off using an unprotected Sanyo and monitoring it with a multimeter than you are using junk cells.

My point is that the OP wanted to stick with the size of a Spinner/Twist which is a lot smaller than any of the mods. Carrying an extra battery for a mod is no different than carrying an extra Spinner/Twist. The advantage of the mod is that you can just change the battery rather than replace the whole thing, but the penalty is the size relative to a Spinner/Twist.

I do agree about Chinese battery mah capacities. I have a couple of iTaste VV V2 which are supposed to be 800mah, but behave more like 600mah.

This thread got away from me since it started out slowly.

To clear the air a bit, I will rephrase my situation.
I don't mind spending the money on a higher end mod and don't mind a bit more weight and size. What I don't want is a dual battery mod the size and weight of a multicell Maglite or something that looks like a pipe bomb- in other words, looking for something easy to carry around without attracting a bunch of attention.
I am using Kanger Protanks on both the 1300 Spinner and 900 twist batteries.
I am not having issues with the batteries per se, but I seem to be noticing that I am having to make voltage adjustments throughout the day as the battery discharges. I am under the impression that some mods run a consistent voltage until the battery peters out. It seems, due to my "fiddling" with the voltage throughout the day, that the batteries I have now are not keeping a consistent voltage while discharging causing the flavor of my juices to change. The flavors don't go from good to yuck, but tend to mute as the day goes on.

I don't know if this is the way things are since I am new to vaping or whether there is a solution. I have a case to carry extra fluids and batteries so if there is a solution, such as the Provari Mini or some other similar product, carrying another small battery is a non issue for me. I am vaping pretty heavily right now which may or may not be part of the reason I am noticing this flavor muting.
