Love the idea of your adventure thread. You have inspired me to soon do the same as a big DIY'er/tinkerer.

I have been looking for a thread started by xMackx on this subject but have not found it. I figure we should probably cross link all the tinkerers so we can keep an eye on each other.

Like this thread, I took my protank head apart... such small bits for my big fingers and old eyes. Have built 3 aga+t, using #400 SS & 32g wire, no issues past month. Also have 2 running mini did's. same mesh and wire combo. Will try and build a head for the protank, when i get some spare time. My concern was how to get the wire in the base with insulator pushed in. Reading this thread i see the pictures of it being done. Hats off to another OC vaper.

Happy to share, happy to learn. I cheat and use a helping hands with magnifier from Harbor Freight.
I look forward to seeing your posts with details photos and success and failure reports so we can discuss and maybe help each other have fun and save bucks as our not smoking turns into a hobby.

Coffee is great too! CBTL :vapor::vapor:

    Hi weisner !
    I'm a tinkerer too.

I didn't take any pictures the last two times..
But my latest project was recoiling and rewicking some eGo-c Type B atomizers.
Those suckers are mighty small...the first one took me 45 minutes....
But, by the sixth one- I had it down to 10 minutes.
That saves thirty bucks an hour !
I will post pictures the next time I do it...maybe in a few weeks.

    My other two projects are...
rebuilding a Vapage Atomizer and making a mini 510 atomizer for my vMod from scratch.
I've got a few more ideas perkalating around -working on some conception drawings about new types of Vaping gear...
    I will share those latter....cuz, I'm a tinkerer !

I would be very happy to see how you did the ego-c b atomizers. I have a few friends that use the type b atomizer and would benefit from seeing how you accomplished that. Thank you DJ RyckRak.

    :toast:
I just received my IGO-L by mail and will in the next few days be doing a build.
I intend on using it as a test unit for my DIY juice mixing and hope that it works as well as reports have suggested.
I will report with build photos (though it has been done to death ) and will let you all know what I think of it.

I hope your Memorial day weekend was as fun and eventful as you wanted it to be.

    Weisner,

Thanks for a great write up/tutorial.

After browsing this whole thread I finally picked up some kanthal and decided to try to rebuild a busted T2 I have.

Took a couple tries. Fingers get slippery from residual juice. But I got it. Running 1.7 ohm according to my evic and multi meter. Feeling a little more confident about picking up a rebuild able atty now.

Also running a 70% bamboo, 30% silk wick.

Any opinion on this? I read that silk has a higher ignition point than cotton, which has been used.
I just grabbed it to see how it worked and its super cheap. Seems to work fine. Quick prime and no funny taste.

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it and am glad that my posts have been of some help.

Awesome that you are using bamboo. I wondered about silk and am not sure. There is a good thread for this however and LINK.

This is the thread that I used to do my research.

    Many high fives. Cheers!

I am so happy with this little Atty. It performs like a rock star. I liked my lil' rainbow but this is in an entirely different class.

I used the same screw method to build my coil that I have in previous posts so no pic of that.

Here is what the finished build looked like:

That last one is my IGO-L riding a Tesla VV/VW, I think it looks a bit like a 70's Cylon from the original TV show Battle Star Galactica with Lorne Green.

Its been a little while since I checked in on this thread.

What gauge kanthal did you use on this last build Weisner? Looks like a 7/6 wrap. 1.3 seems relatively low resistance for that length, but I could be wrong. Looks sweet, regardless.

Just Picked up an Igo-W not too long ago. So much easier for dual coil builds. 30# kanthal dual coil twisted wire. Hits pretty sweet.

    I used 30 AWG

I can not run below 1.0 Ohms, the regulator on the eVic and also on the Tesla don't allow it. It is detected as a short.

Nice handy work on the build in the pic. FYI I have an IGO-L and it looks pretty much the same minus the second ground post.

The Igo w is essentially the same base as the L from what I can tell. THey added another post and put holes in them for easier building. Also, the cap seems to have a little more volume inside. I swapped the W cap onto my L and it seemed to hit harder?

I know in cars, longer intake runners create more air turbulence, resulting in a better dispersion of particulate matter (fuel) in the air. THink this has a similar effect when vaping? haha
