The center post gets pushed down with some cartoz, so when you put on a cool cart or carto with a higher connection, you might wanna use a pin to push the center post up a bit...

Other then that, they perform better than anything (pen style) on the market atm (IMO).. :vapor:

I just wish I ordered an XL... Now I have to go back and order one and who knows what else my trigger finger will add to cart lol

Thanks.... I have four of the new batteries and LOVE them, but one has been a challenge with cool carts - I'll give this a try.

The new batteries are the reason I went back this style of e-cig. Take a pin, go around the air holes and slightly push the center post upwards. It will work for sure..

Sorry, idiot alert here-- are you talking about the round thing with the hole in it or is the pin in the hole?

it is the round thing with the hole in it. It is supposed to touch the carto inorder to heat up and work, so if it isnt touching it the carto will not work. It needs to be lifted up a bit to make a good connection. Also, make sure you keep that part clean as well.

are the new Diamond shorties exhibiting this issue as well? ugh, i was hoping this would be resolved with the latest version.

i tried this method last night with my shorty auto that is not contacting. interesting to hear that it's specific to the cool carts, which are what i prefer. i was wondering what was up with the randomness of the issue. (i have coolcarts prefilled and wow blanks but didn't notice a pattern)

prying up seemed to make it work, but it didn't last long. so i can't consider it reliable enough to take with me in the PCC. fortunately i have one standard auto (in polished silver) that knock-on-wood has been my ol' faithful. screw on and vape or die! lol

I have two batteries that I have to pry up the center post every time I attach a carto after charging; been that way since I got them over 6 months ago - it becomes a habit after a while, no big deal to me. The gasket supporting the center post in these two batteries is a softer rubber, which over time, the charging post has pushed down where it tends to stay. After a quick little adjustment, it's fine for as long as the carto is attached.

Take your carto and look at the battery connection side, see the round metal circle in the middle with a hole in it?You want to lift that just a tiny bit.I use an eyeglass screwdriver They comes in these little sets you can get at the dollar store.

I was at the Dollar Store today and saw these kits. I bought one for just this reason. I think I must have read about it in one of your other posts. Thank you. :)

OK...I got my last order this morning and there are a couple of problems with which I need to deal...but it's the two batteries which have me the most disappointed.
I got an X-L Stealth and a Single Logo Standard Auto and I charged them both up...and the little standard has no draw, or pull, and I can't get it to produce vapor or taste. I tried ten cartos on it and fooled with the post, etc.. Now, I don't even get wisps of vapor. Nothing. I fear it died. Or was dead.
And the stealth. I loved it. But it only lasted me from about 3:30 this afternoon until 8:00...***with very LIGHT vaping***. I was sort of stunned when it just up and quit.
Aren't the X-L batteries supposed to last longer than 41/2 hours, with light vaping?

hey jazz, possibly you need to go through a couple charge cycles. if not, you may need to contact CS at V4L. but battery technology isn't always consistent between uses, which i experience a lot with my cell phone batteries. if the "smart" tech in the charger switched it off prematurely, you may not have gotten a full charge.

the smart technology kinda varies between chargers too. here's an example i was discussing with my fellow vaper in the office here. he was commenting how his batteries last longer when he charges with the USB vs. the wall charger. i compared the stats on the chargers. one was slightly higher volts and amps. i suggested to him that it can be similar to filling a bottle with water in your kitchen sink. with the water on full-blast, the bottle will fill up, gush out the top, but then you take the bottle away and it's not actually full. but if you had the water on slowly running, the bottle will fill to the top easily. so a higher capacity charger may be cutting off the charge cycle early. here's another example: sometimes i pull a battery off the wall charger which indicates full charge, and i put it in the PCC and that will charge it a little more.

it's just a theory, but something to consider as a possibility. use it for an hour or so, then give it an over night charge. see if performance improves. if not, maybe you got a dud.

Hi, Tj1100cl. :)
Thank you for taking the time to type out such a detailed explanation.
I played around with both batteries and I do believe I have two duds. :(
The standard auto wouldn't take a charge. It seemed to that first time but I got nothing from the battery. Tried again and the LED kept blinking and it would appear to be charging and then the green light would go on...and I would try to use it and it was dead. Then it let me charge it for several hours...and nothing.
And the XL Stealth only lasted about 4 1/2 hours, yesterday, with VERY light vaping...before it died. Today it lasted a little longer, with SUPER LIGHT vaping...and then I had it sitting on my desk and it started hissing and crackling...like when you're getting a good hit on a fresh carto...only NO ONE was hitting it. LOL It just kept doing that and I took the carto off and the top was a bit melted and the battery was gone pecan -- deader than dead.
I tinkered with the posts and tried two different chargers...and I threw in the towel. Opened a ticket for one, yesterday...and added on about the other, today. I REALLY loved that Stealth, too. So neat looking and good power...when it worked.

Oh, one thing...
I also ordered a bottle of Wow juice and apparently the little dropper and bottle top were on it in a hinky way...and about 3/4 of the bottle leaked inside of the evelope. Most of it was caught by the bubble wrap in the envelope...but I'm wondering if the juice got into the (auto) batteries and that's what's wrong. It was licorice juice...and I could smell it about twenty feet prior to hitting my mailbox. I imagine my mail-person wondered just what was in that packet!

I hate to say it, but most likely it did, when I had auto's I was already refilling carts, seeing how much it saves money on carts, and at that point I did not know to test a refilled carto by sucking on it not attached to the battery, and if it gave a gurgling noise, to blow out the rest. So sad to say my two auto's died.

I never liked autos cause of that fault, but if you look at a manual compaired to an auto, you will see that the manual is totally sealed. I believe it was MM on here that said she lost her manual in her yard during a snow storm, and she found it in the spring, she cleaned it off and charged it and it worked like a champ. If it was an auto, it would have fried due to the open hole.

Everyone has their choices about autos and manuals, and personally, I chose manuals, there is advantages and disadvantages for both, but whatever you like, just make sure you take care of them. Clean them every week, do all you can to keep your batteries clean.

Krazie_Kid, I just got off the phone with a customer service rep and she seemed to think it was the spilled juice which fried the batteries.
Ya know...I have two manuals...and I never use them. I don't know why...but it totally kills my vaping enjoyment. Duh.
I'm like that with the pass-throughs, too. I thought I'd use the heck out of them (got an auto and a manual) and I never use them...because maybe it doesn't feel like I have a cigarette in my hand. I quit smoking two years ago and picked up the vaping habit because it was either that or go back to smoking. I chose the vaping...with 0 MG nicotine and, for me, the biggest part of my addiction...was the hand-to-mouth thing (there is actually a name for this -- just can't remember it!)...and I think the manuals detract from that, for me. Go figure.
Anyway...I'm very careful and mindful of the care of my autos. I wipe carto butts prior to putting them on...and I never use a freshly juiced carto. I clean my batteries once a week and make sure the little holes are clean.
I guess I just got hit with the unlucky stick, with the spilled juice, this time. It could happen to anyone.
Thanks so much for taking the time to post in response.
I also didn't mean to hijack this thread. I just figured I could get advice about my batts...beings it was a thread kinda giving it...

You are welcome, and a tip to clean it is take an old toothbrush and put alcohol on it, and scrub the threads with it, but if you need a battery asap, I can mail you one, just pm me with your address, I will pay for the shipping.

I know how autos give the authenticity of smoking, and a lot of people here love them, personally, I am afraid I would fry one, and at 20 bucks a pop, I could not afford it lol.

But if you do need one, I have a few XL's that are manuals, and I am sorry I have no autos for you, but an emergency calls for any battery you can get, I know that all to well lol.

Krazy_Kid, you are so kind! Thank you very much for your offer...but I've got those two manuals and the pass-thrus and three autos. Well, I've got four autos...but one I got from V2 and it makes my jaws sore for a week because the draw is so danged hard. I really love the batteries V4L sells. They're light on the draw...but not so light you don't feel anything.
Soooo...I should be covered. Can't wait to get a good Stealth though. That's one's pretty slick.
Again, thank you so much! You are a great asset to this forum. :)
