Must completely agree with the original post -- go straight for Riva or eGo -- no leaks because of the cone, long battery life -- it was my first e-cig, and I didn't have any of the frustration which so many people seem to have when they first start!

Just agree about the Riva..I am new and when asked for suggestions .. Riva was most suggested..and very user friendly...perfect for a noob like me...;)

I agree somewhat to OP. But I think pretty much everyone should start off with a standard e cig, and work up if needed. Jumping straight to mods, you miss the point, the fun of the journey, and lessons it holds. Also, once you go up, its hard to go back down, and we all start as a way to ultimately quite altogether. mods will always be more of an ease of use, or solution of some sort, not necessarily what e cigs were MEANT to be. They are pretty darn fun though:p But starting small is comfortable. If someone had handed me an ego as my first e cig, I never wouldve bought. NOW, I love em all for their own personalities. But that initial comfort/ wtf is going on with my pv, is what makes the transition exciting, and easy for us. If it wasn't for my troubles, I wouldnt know jack about e cigs. An easier transition, by a veteran user guiding through the process and questions, but still allowing each their own path is what will work best for all involved, period. But OP is on the right track to a certain extent ;)

I also think it's worth noting that the good stock models are cheap.

A 510 is different from a Kr8 is different from a 901, etc. And no matter what you may "move up" to, you're still dealing with the same handful of good atomizer and cartomizer models.

Some people like one over the other. And getting a stock kit is a cheap way to find out what you like. They each have their different strengths and weaknessses, and those strengths and weaknesses often remain no matter what battery you stick them on.

So going for a $100 mod with a Kr8 connection, and then finding out you prefer 510's, is more hassle than starting with a $35 kit, and learning that way.

Quite right girl, quite right....Once you know your atty, then power is open season. Most don't/won't realize its not about the battery, but about the atty. Battery is negotiable. LR is for overachievers:p
