Hey all,

Ive actually been vaping a reo for quite a long time but just recently getting back to the rooms and the new equipment and tweaks that the forums provide.

My number 1 goal now is flavor - i have always given reo 10 out of 10 in every category possible except flavor (but thats just me). I think part of it is because we will vape the same flavor for quite some time since the device holds so much juice.

Without giving my whole vaping autobiography what are some things i can do to increase flavor? Tips ? Suggestions? Thoughts on getting more flavor out of my reo and rba ?

(I have my first ever order of DIY liquids in the mail so the obvious thing might be to add some more flavor into the e liquid. Is it that simple? What percent of pg/vg should i lean towards?

What are some other things people use ? Long or short wicking tails? There a different rba that produces noticeable difference in flavor? Is there a type of build to use ?

How does the resistance of the coil and size of airhole affect flavor? I did notice myself that when i opened up the stock airhole the vapor seemed light and airy with little flavor to me.

Will low ohm and high watt builds reduce flavor ? Obviously there is more heat produced, which i would guess reduce flavor but with the right size airhole you can cool it so..... what im saying is i have no idea what im talking about !!! )

If anyone can enlighten me and/or provide their personal tips on flavor and the reo i would appreciate it

Thx cr12 -
@doggie - yes i did - good memory - luckily after 5 years of vaping i learned to finally have duplicates of anything i like and can afford and i do have the same rba with stock airhole and was wondering on flavor for this one. But your exactly right i did enlarge airhole on other just to play around and it was big mistake for my likings :)

flexsr,

cr12's thread is a good one.. you might also want to check out the super long micro coil threads located here and in the RBA sub-forum. It's weeks worth of reading full of peoples trials and tribulations with coil building.

There's SO much to tweak and play with while searching for your "unicorn" coil build.

I built a twisted 28g 6/7 wrap coil a few months ago and haven't been remotely tempted to deviate from that spec with every build I do since then. It's absolute vaping nirvana to me in an RM2 from 4.2V down to 3.7V when it's time to switch batteries. You'll find your "go to" build soon enough, unfortunately there's just no skipping out on trying different builds that you can learn to replicate with consistency. Once you nail it down, your gonna be one happy Reonaut!

If it helps, one thing I think works great with my builds is using very little cotton. I keep my tails super short, as in they are just barely long enough to touch the surface of the RM2 deck, and they can only touch the deck after being saturated in the first place. (make sense?)

I get a good solid 2-3 hits between squonks. I've been DIY'ing my juice for awhile now, and with my setup in the RM2 I've lowered my flavor percentage in my mixing down to 5%-7%, where it used to be around 25% when I was using carto-tanks on a regulated device. It just goes to show there is a ton of adjustments that can be made that will affect your vape with RDA's and your builds.

Good luck!

a simple micro coil wicked with sterile cotton (very short tails) gives me great flavor. I saw in your other thread that you enlarged your air hole, that can throw your flavor off if you're sucking too much air.

Yep, this is how I like it, too, for best flavor. It's not fancy, nor glamorous, but the first build in this thread in the stickies (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/413000-rm2-rba-2-0-reomizer-2-rebuild-tutorial.html) is the best (IMO). Also, notice not only how short the wick tails are, but how the cotton is not very dense (less is more here).

Interesting.... Whats reasoning for not so dense wicks? They will expand and choke off vapor n flavor ?

I don't know what's technically happening (week two with the RM2). But my first wicks were much too tight and lead to burning taste and blackening under the coil, almost instantly. I'm guessing a combo of insufficient wicking (choked off) and inadequate air and heat flow, perhaps? All I know is it sucks, and a fluffy skinny roll of a diameter to slide through easily is perfect for me.
