Hi guys,
My screws stripped in an Indestructible rda and a very nice person said he'd send me some that fit. The only thing that worries me is that they are made of Titanium. Will they be safe to use?
Thanks in advance!

Are you sure they are made out of Titanium?

Screws made from Element 22 are Not that common.

I work in a dental lab and can tell you (we use titanium screws for implants) titanium screws are expensive, and as it is softer than steel, easier to strip. The screws are probably close to the same size used in most rdas, just longer and hex, our cost per screw is about $5. They are intended to be fully engaged once, and treated gently (if used at all) in the lab. I wouldn't use titanium screws in an rda, I'd worry they would become lodged in the posts.

This was true 20 years ago when we used to call it unobtanium. They are a lot more common now.

Yeah... Not say'n they don't Exist. Only that they are Not that common outside some Special Applications. And it would be Kinda Rare for an Average Person to come across one. Or have a Need for One.

honestly i'm not too sure, i think it's mostly for bragging rights ...

Yeah, I've seen that. LOL

In the Cycling Game, something like Stainless Steel is Old School. And if you can make something that Weighs Less, there will be those who will Buy It. At Any Cost.

I've ridden a lot of Races. And have Beaten Many People who rode bikes that Weighed Less than mine.

Nothing wrong with Titanium Bolts or Carbon Fiber water bottle Cages for those who want to spend Money on them. But if trying to shave Ounces of Riding Weight is Important, I tell people to Look at the Weight of the Rider. Not at the Weight of the Bike.
