I just messed around with my gkmf a little, loosen all the knurled thumb nuts all the way, then tighten down the one against the insulator first, then the rest. Do not over crank the first one. This should let it out just enough.
I had to add a wrap to coil. I couldn't handle all that freakin power. Changed my drip tip as well. This one suits it better.
Does David make a ti version of the shorty tip with the p engraved in it?

Thank you this got it working. I got so excited I just had a mini photoshoot with it. #10 is now ripping
And to think I was considering selling my GkmF. Not anymore. How top heavy is it? Looks great btw...
It's actually not that bad I think the center of gravity is right about where the 510 connection would be.
Guys just a warning with the gkmf, if you have to loosen it to much to get the positive where you need it, it could possibly leak a little out the bottom due to condensation getting inside the barrel over time.
Just don't crank the atty down super duper tight on the mod, and it should be fine. Just use it for a while, take it off an check it. I've had to do this with my cobra as well on certain mods. The positive pin design is what I don't like about the gkmf, and the cobra.

How do you like the Ithaka on there? I've got one but haven't set it up yet. Are they prone to gurgling? I Got it for the ELA, but ended up with a turbine instead.
Its an Odysseus in disguise. Ithaka is good from what I heard, but over engineered and too fiddly , at least for me. I knew I would have problems. For me Ody was just perfect and was not interested in the upgrades Ithaka came with. From what I hear, a well set up Ithaka is very , very nice.
The Ithaka isn't really over-engineered. It's more of a revamped Odysseus. Aside from the air flow control portion, the parts are the same as the Ody; they are just updated. The ceramic assembly locking nut is larger and contains slots to aid in feeding juice. The ceramic cup has two wick channels on each side as opposed to the single channels in the Ody. The ground wire is secured by a delrin nut, and the positive wire is trapped by an oring; Ody locks the positive wire with a SS nut, and the ground wire terminates in the non-ceramic channel. The way you build it is virtually identical to the Ody. In my experience, the flavor is better in the Ithaka as a result of having twice as much wick feeding the coil.

I guess I should have worded things a bit better, I meant for MY needs it didnt justify upgrading to it. I like a simple single coil setup and conservative ohms, so the added things like airflow, juice feeding, dual channels etc, were not necessary for my simple needs.
For those who like dual , quad and real low resistance all those upgrades were a must as the hotter you go, you need more airflow and more juice saturation to keep up with the heat.
One thing that I wish they had not gone with is Delrin anything. I know, why, but that day that I left my ELA going for 45 minutes firing, with Ody on top, my happy ending would not have been so happy if Ody had any plastic parts in it.
Thats why I love ELA, no plastic to melt.
