Titanium Simplicity 18350

For those who use AW 18650 batteries. Do you use AW IMR or AW Protected?

I have always used AW because they are reliable and a standard to which most modders (including Super-t) always recommends.

Protected vs IMR, from what Ive learned the IMR are safer and can handle higher amp loads? Not really tech savvy when it comes to the numbers. I think Super T recommends IMRs on thier devices and designs their devices to fit IMR AW batteries.

Im sure the veterans will chime in with their more experienced opinions and facts.

The protected batteries are taller... If that matters to you.

The IMR's are better IMHO.

I prefer IMR. However, in the 18650 size, if you are good with the 6.8A limit of the protected AW it is a quality battery that will give you longer battery life between charges than the IMR. It's really a matter of preference. But as raq stated above, the protected version is taller.

When I received my Titanium Simplicity 18650, the AW IMR 18650 batteries were too short. I was surprised. I did not have that issue with the Titanium Simplicity 18350. After adding washers, the 18650 worked. I emailed Super-T to ask what their thoughts were. They responded as follows:

"It was set up to run protected batteries, so to run IMRs the approximate set up would be 4 washers on the screw in post post and two thick orings under thee battery, one should already be in there."

^^ Have you tried the recommended setup of 2 thick O rings and 4 washers? Seems to me that as long as that works out for you, the batteries you have will work just fine.

Not yet, but I will. She works fine right now. Just rattles a bit. Now they have replied, I will do what they said. Just haven't yet, because my hands aren't working real good right now.

I was just asking, because I thought most of us used IMR's. The 350 was delivered IMR ready. I assumed the 650 would also. Wanted to see if there is a reason I should switch to 'protected'. Thought Super-T may have changed the setup because they learned something new?

Just checking with you experts.

Well, maybe i misunderstood the figures but here is what i was looking at:

Regardless, i am biased toward titanium and i want it to beat the SS in any aspect. Probably wishful thinking/dreaming.

Good finds on those charts I'm no expert, was just going by what google turned up, so I appreciate the further info. Whether it's wishful thinking or not I certainly approve of the bias

The trader was offering a Wizard Evolved, a Paps X, a Senio Dripper and a Hellfire Dripper all for a Ti Simplicity..

Probably what... $1,500 (at least!) worth of gear in secondary / actual pricing?

Even with offering all that, it took him a while to score one..

I wouldn't trade it too. .... the money. what would I do with it? Buying another mod or 2 but no one would be so great like the simplicity titanium. after a few day it's my strongest device.really love it very much. it's so tiny a light a it feels so great in the hands. a masterpiece.

How about adding top cap designs to this list? I won't fill the ones in that I *think* I know lest I screw it all up.
I assume Flower was the most popular.
