What's a slug do that's fantastic?

It allows for the use of a SS mesh wick because it needs to be long enough to hold more than a few drops. Many prefer the flavor of SS mesh to other wicking materials. In my experience, a slug doesn't really perform all that well, but others will say differently. I do enjoy a short SS mesh wick on a dripper for tasting flavors. Really easy to swap flavors really quickly. It's what I take to B&M's to test flavors.

That was just my initial set up. Went back to silica right after. Less fuss and easier to rebuild.

I have moved away from Silica in drippers too, only because i like to change flavors fairly often. I did have good success with a 'roller coaster' style dual coil with eko. The hardest part was getting all of the juice to vaporize, silica likes to soak it up and not always distribute to the coil. I have moved on to cotton, but this was a really cool build, or at least I thought it was 8)

I have never been a fan of SS mesh but the slug (and I didn't even know that is what it's called -- LOL) I currently have in the HF is plowing out the flavor. The one I have in there now was not rolled diagonal and has minor kinks in the bend so I will do another today on a diagonal roll and see how much more I can pull out of it.

I don't mind cutting, rolling and oxidizing the mesh, it's not really all that time consuming.

I tried cotton in the HF and it was pretty good, not as good as the SS mesh IMHO but still a good vape. I think I had to much cotton in there though so that probably made a difference. Last night I tossed some silica in there and it was just kinda okay at best..

For the HF at least, I think I will stick to SS mesh for now..

My best shot at rating the 3:

Flavor: SS mesh --> Cotton --> Silica
Vapor: SS mesh --> Silica --> Cotton

That's my :2c: so take it for what it's worth which should be just about --> Nothing! :p

That's a pretty good assessment Raq. The only thing I don't like about mesh in a dripper is the capacity. I have found that I start to get dry hits even though there is still juice in the tail end of the mesh. With cotton, you get a good vape until it's 90% dry.

I have noticed that as well..

When David gets a break / slow time (I won't bother him now as he has a lot going on --> Strata, ELA, Simplicities) I am going to see if he has any tip and tricks to get the atty marks off the top cap.

The marks are pretty light and nowhere even close to the marks I get on a Paps top cap, but alas my eyes have seen and I can't un see them now..

I also need to inquire about the o-ring sizes.. I have a problem atty where if I use the thin o-ring the battery rattles and if I use the thick o-ring the top cap won't screw all the way down.. I assume I need to find something in-between the 2 o-ring sizes.
