Got my Ti 500 today! Mine came with two thick o-rings and three washers installed. With one thick and one thin, i get battery rattle with all my aw and efest batteries. With two thick, I really have to crank the top cap hard to get it to close all the way. No in between with those so I guess, unless I find different size o-rings, I'll be cranking. ;) With three washers, I found the same thing as INFRNL, button crunchy and hard to get it to fire. So I started tinkering, and I think I know why. It's the length off the spring. With three washers, the distance traveled mashes the spring up so that it is blocking the pin from making contact. Well I didn't want to cut the spring or anything before getting feedback here, so I replaced it with a spring from another device. This spring is very slightly stiffer, and a good bit shorter. Working great now with three washers, and doesn't fire when standing. I'll get some pics soon!

What spring did you end up using? The HD springs are too stiff from my experience. I just put one in my 14500 simplicity. I need something between stock and HD for both units.

I did get one thick, one thin o-ring to work with my aw's, but I know it is borderline. as you said, 2 thick is too thick, lol. makes it a royal pain to snug up the top cap.

I've had trouble setting up a simplicity like this before... I couldn't get it work to suit ME... I thought I was just being "fussy" ...
I am, but that's not the point..

The solution requires a trip down to the local Ace Hardware... They have washers, spacers, and o-rings of every type (for cheap!).... I picked up an assortment of likely objects..... went to work finding the right set up for ME...

The springs are a different story... The 183ti's shipped with the "heavy duty Super T spring" because people were having the same problems. I had problems with that spring "hanging up on itself" similar to what has been described here.. I wound up using a "stock" spring... I doubt it would support much of an atty..\

It's funny people are having trouble setting these up.. I thought they would be pretty much "right there" out the door.

I tried getting the 'gift' one just right. Failed. Oh well. He can do it. He's smarter than I am. :)

Mine, I will get to it, when I get to it. :)

BTW: When I got the 350, it was perfect, out of the box, for AW IMR. The 650, out of the box, was perfect for Efest, not AW IMR. That surprised me.

I have not received my PS 18350 (SS) yet but I do have several (& only) AW IMR batteries. They most definitely vary. I'm mainly using a brass Chi You in 18350 mode & I have to adjust the little "battery rattle" pin & top cap ring every time I change the battery just as I have to adjust the + 510 pin when I change attys.
I just realized I did not get a any extra washers or o-rings with my new 14500! I'm about to order some protected AW ICRs just to play around with. (Not to worry... I don't have any interest in setting up my attys below 1.8 ohms.) Gonna email the retailer I got it from and see if they have a mysterious "extra" baggy of doodads layin around!

Baseline Setup on the TI 18500 with an AW 18490 is as follows: Two thick orings (.100 thick each for a total of .200). Four washers on the switch post. It should be tight the last turn when tightening the cap down, its compressing down the orings which is normal. Now, if its just too tight it won't tighten at all, switch to one thick and one thin oring (.100 thick and .070 for a total of .170). I stay with 4 washers. If they battery has some rattle, you may have to go back to two thick orings and compress the battery nipple a bit. (see bottom)

Each washer is approximately .040 thick and are a #10 size. If one really wants to fine tune their throw, their are washers out their that are .020 thick or one can shave down their washers but that seems like a lot of work to me.

I do find battery lengths do vary even among AW's, and I've fine tuned them by compressing down the nipple of the battery top a bit. Be careful to not over compress it though and overshoot your mark.

THey are sent out in order of the time the orders were placed. Cucco must have been right at the gate.

hmmm, in this case mine should at least be more than a 2 week stale notification.

The battery I planned on using is a hair too short.. just enough for some rattle but barely makes contact :( Will a hardware store have thinner o-rings to fine tune battery rattle?

Well, I am sooo sorry to be a downer to the thread and am very happy my buddies are getting theirs.

I have completely lost interest at this point in Super T. Sorry David. I tried, hard. I know how hard you work and it is obvious you are well loved by your owners. I too was hoping to be one. I was expecting the device originally in the time frame posted on your website and followed your posts for delivery and even emailed Angie as I was not sure what was being shipped upon my notice on the 16th of Feb. She was fantastic in the quick and pleasant response telling me on the 21st it was going out that week with the Strata to follow the week after. Still nothing. Your methods of updating need an overhaul.

I sure do not mind a wait but, seems like I have been led down the road of misinformation.
I know many here including friends will say it is worth it and I am sure it will be but, not the point. At this point I have an ELA, Ti 500 and Strata ordered with Super T on blind faith alone. I only have a top cap and a switch at this point and those are 6-7 months away from use as it is for the ELA I ordered. Seems like a fair investment for fair information. Even an email to us that have waited telling me thank you for your patience would have been something. To many, the dollar amount invested is at least a couple weeks of wife allowance.
I do not want the same exp with my ELA.

Now, after skimming through a few issues (I may need to read more closely but prob will not at this point) on minor device issues I have lost interest. I am not upset, so please do not confuse this with me in that state. I am disappointed.
I know I am just one guy and see you have people in line along with your good family here so, it may not mean much to you that I feel like I do. Just though you may want to know this for future buyers.
Out of respect I did tried to PM you in lieu of this but, it seems you do not accept PM's.
