Not me, I'm just temporarily broke. :grr: As soon as I'm not, I have several purchases planned; that Galileo mech is still calling my name, so loudly I can hear it all the way from fasttech in China. :D And I found the same Smok Kick that I paid $16.95 for, selling for $12.95 at DesertVapes, one of my fa-vor-ITE! places. And, I could swear I hear another Tobeco KFL+ calling me all the way from New Jersey, where I got its brothers. eBay may suck for batteries, but for other stuff, it's GREAT.

Of course, in the short-term (while still awaiting that next check), I do have to order some cartos as soon as my credit card payment clears. Hope the one I have left will last long enough.

One thing I wanted to point out -- there truly is a method to my madness. I despise waste even more than I loathe politicians and other gov't busybodies; by spending a pretty significant amount on vaping, I virtually assure that I will NEVER go back to smoking -- I got a taste of how that felt, back in the summer, when I briefly went back to smoking after my illness, and it drove me absolutely wild to think of all my cool vape stuff going to waste -- no way in hell would I go back to THAT expensive habit, which basically turns money into ashes -- with vaping, I still have a ton of cool stuff, not buckets of ashes to throw in the trash, and another step closer to cancer!

Hmm... Why tobeco? As far as I know, ehpro seems to be the closest to an authentic and the quality surprised me.

Well first and foremost, they cost less, and with the 2 others I bought, I discovered an outstanding vendor on eBay, Ironvapin. Best online vendor I've ever bought from, hands-down. When the little hex-key thingie didn't fit the airhole, I emailed him and asked if he knew what size I needed to get, to actually fit that AFC hole -- and he sent me the correct size by the next day's mail! Then, when the tiny o-ring on the fill screw just shredded and I had to use the spare, I emailed him to see if he knew where I could find those tiny o-rings -- he sent me 2 more extras by the next day's mail! And when I bought my 2nd KFL+ from him, he included an extra pkg of ALL the o-rings, screws, and tools! Just can't ask for a better seller than this guy.

And also, with this Tobeco, I can loosen/extend the 510 screw if necessary to make a proper connection; I have asked and ascertained that this is not the case with the EHPro's -- if you loosen the 510 screw on them, it loosens the block where the coil is, which makes for wonky resistance readings. So I'd prefer to stick with an exact make of the KFL+ that I *know* is great in every detail.

These are the "2mm custom airflow" ones, and they're really outstanding; I observed in the KFL thread that if the authentic is better than these, the damn thing must heal the sick and walk on water. :D

Ok... That must have been the best excuse I heard today for being a shopaholic lol :D

Now seriously, I think the same... No way am I returning to smoking after dropping a full load of cash in mods and atties and most of my buys are pretty thought thru.

Well maybe the torchy Batts weren't but hey... I got the best batteries in the world... It's a safety thing right?
Not sure why I need 7 18350 batteries but ok... I might end for two days on a deserted Island without any power right?

Speaking of which... Man... I just got an idea... We have like 300 days sun per year here and during my summer vacation I usually spend most of my time in a boat or at some God forsaken beach (comes handy when you can't reach it by foot or car lol)
What about a solar panel to charge my evic at the beach?

Oh I so want a solar charger now... BRB :)

Well now you left me stumbled with the adjustable 510 pin... As far as I know, only the kayfun 3.1 (authentic and clones) can be adjusted without loosening up the middle block because it's taller and has the collector base.
Are you sure the "lite" can be adjusted without loosening the block?

Did you see the pic of my rayon wick? Seems ok to you? The quantity I mean.

That looks nice indeed. :)

Personally what I do is place the mod inside the cup and then close the top lid (it slides from back to front) to jam the mod and hold it in place.

Looking at my mod and since it's ss, I wonder if one could not make a magnetic holder of some kind...

I have no idea if other "Lites" have this feature, but these tobeco 2mm custom airflows do; I adjust the 510 to a bit longer since I use a kayfun stainless ring as a beauty ring on my sigelei, to get rid of that gap -- just leave off the topcap entirely, let the stainless ring just sit there, and the kayfun holds it in place, so the adjustment has to be *perfect* or it rattles around.

I probably did see it, but you really can't tell about quantity until you actually vape it. I've done numerous wicks that I thought looked right, seemed right, but they turned out not to be, when I vaped it. I have to rewick my kayfuns tonight, since we're going to my folks' tomorrow for the day, so I have to do it right after dinner so I have time to vape them for a while and make sure they're right.

Well I ask because all wicks I made so far worked perfectly although I've been using very different amount of rayon... I don't want to jinx myself but heck, no matter if I stuff the coil or just put enough for the rayon to slide back and forth, they all work.

What seems to matter more is how long the ends are. If I let them really flush without stuffing the ends, it seems to wick better then when the ends are longer and I lift the shoulders :/

I think it's definitely true that it's much easier to get a rayon wick to work, a wider sweet spot. And yes, any problems I've experienced were when I left the ends a bit too long and they blocked the channels. I've started doing something I learned over in the rayon thread; since you need a pretty thick bit of rayon, the ends are kinda wild and bushy, so I've started trimming those ends to a point, and it seems to work a lot better than leaving them really fat, not so much likelihood of blocking the juice channels.

Well I opened up the one I had planned to rewick, and it really wasn't that bad, cause I just rinsed it the othr day. So, I just rinsed it again, worked it a bit out of the coil and saw that even in there it's not that bad, so I just left it; re-primed, refilled, and it works fine, so I can wait a bit on rewicking it. Planning to look at the other one too; it's been doing that loud POP!! thing, which means there's something wrong with the wick, though I'm not entirely sure what, so it may need a new wick more than this other one did.

Guess I'll load up my T3S with the blueberry muffin, to take with me tomorrow, so if the carto starts going off its game while we're at my folks', I'll still be able to vape blueberry muffin, even if slightly less well than with my cartotank.

Popping and crackling is good. Means the coil is doing is job well. The sound comes from the flash boiling process (also called explosive atomization).

No, it's definitely NOT good when the pop is loud enough to be heard in another room, and it also delivers a nice explosion of juice to the tongue or lip -- when it's doing that, I make sure it's pointed away when I first press the fire button!

I'm not talking about the regular popping/crackling noises. I'm talking about something that sounds more like a small firecracker.

Something similar happen to me on my kayfun mini the other day but it hadn't be used for weeks so the first time I pressed the button it was similar to a firecracker :)

That particular wick in that kayfun was doing it with any use after it had sat for as little as 10 minutes. Last night I finally pulled that wick; I'm getting that kayfun cleaned up so I can try the blueberry in it again. I soaked all the parts in hot soapy water for about 10 minutes last night, rinsed, and left to dry overnight... but I still smell the "tobacco-ish" odor on them, so I may need to soak them in alcohol for a good while, then soak again in soapy water, to get rid of that kinda sour smell, before re-purposing that kayfun for the blueberry.
