I just want to say Congrats and way to go. I still am struggling, had 7 cigarettes today, but I guess it's better than a pack and a half I was smoking a month ago. I have slowly decreased smoking over a month. Tomorrow, as I have quite a few 0 and 4mg nic flavors, I'm gonna bring an 8mg flavor with me go work and see If that helps the cravings. From about 7Am to 4Pm I had a total of 4 cigarettes but was really craving the nicotine badly.

I really have respect for people who have decided that they want to quit. I mean I'm not young anymore, current 35 and smoking since I was sixteen. I want to be able to watch my son,who is 3 at the moment, grow up. I have had battles with anxiety over the past 13 years So my mind is always thinking "what if ". I am hoping I can beat this nasty habit before the affects of smoking do more damage to my body.
Well anyways Congrats to all who actually quit and hopefully won't pick up the habit again.

I just wasn't sure how high I should go, when I originally started. I figured I could beat the cravings without substituting another form of nicotine. I have done it in the past, but than again I was not around many smokers. Now a days everyone I know smokes. I have some 12mg as well So might give that a go and see how that works for me.

You will get there hon, give yourself some time. It doesn't happen overnight for everyone. Every cig that you avoid is a step in the right direction. I think you're on the right track upping the nic....4 is awfully low, as is 8 even. If you find you're still craving after trying the 8, you might want to bump it up higher to 12.

Good luck! I hope that tomorrow is more successful for you...but if not, don't beat yourself up over it. Take it one day at a time.

Holy ecigs! You are doing absolutely fantastic, IMHO!! To have gone from smoking directly to such low nic levels (and even 0 nic) right off the bat is astounding - to me, at least. I am still vaping 24 mg and am only now just considering 18 mg on my next juice order. My hat is off to you, sir! I even hate to recommend that you up the ante on your nic level to help wean you off those last few cigs a day. That said ... you might want to consider it. From the sounds of it and your incredible success so far, even 12 mg might be just the thing to take that edge off the nic cravings.

Congratulations on your fantastic success!

Congrats on the 7 cigs today. Quite impressive after being a 1 1/2 pk smoker.

Agree with others. Bump up the nic content. I was a 1 1/2 pk @ day smoker. Started at 11 mg & that was a bit too low. I was vaping like a maniac. Now I use 18 mg & that satisfies just fine. You can always cut back on the nic content as you go.

I never thought of it that way but it makes sense. I guess trying to quit nic cold Turkey, or by a real low level I will have insane cravings.

So just to set things straight. Let's just use 18mg for example, that is 18mg of nic per 1 ml of juice? So a pack of cigs has what about 20-40mg of nicotine, roughly? So If I was doing 18mg juice you shouldn't really smoke over 2ml a day, roughly 2-3 carts? Am I right on this or way off?

from what I've read, 1 drop of 24mg nicotine juice is equivalent to approximately 1 cigarette (in nicotine terms).

So you're having about 1/3rd less nicotine per drop. Though I'm new to this, (apart from learning tricks aka losing some liquid with the e-cig I purchased), I've used about 3ml per day. I was about a 1 pack a day smoker.

So it's understandable why you'd still be having cigarettes, at a reduced rate. What type of cigarettes did you smoke before? If it's medium you'd probably want at least 18mg to start, imo.

Good luck

heh 18mg of nic in a 1ml of juice would be impossible, thats 1800% concentration, 18mg concentration of nic means 18mg/1000ml of ejuice at 1ml it means 0.018mg of nic

edit: quite a embarrassing mistake here: For some reason i keep using ml/mg for the conversion rate instead of ml/g for liquids of around the same density as water 1g/cm^3, nicotine has that density, with the numbers i was giving 99.8% pure nicotine or 998mg nicotine concentration would only amount to 1% concentration.

are you sure Song?? I was also under the same impression regarding the nicotine content per ml, and it was a vendor that broke it down for me as follows:

"The nicotine density listed for e-liquid is the number of milligrams of nicotine per milliliter in the E-Liquid. That means a 10ml bottle of 24mg nicotine e-liquid would have 240mg of nicotine in it (24mg x 10ml). Likewise, a 30ml bottle of 24mg e-liquid would have 720mg of nicotine in it (24mg x 30ml)."

get a 24mg ... I couldn't quit with 12mg. I had to bump it up to 18mg. Now I have no problems.
My wife was a 1.5-2 pack a day and she is using 24mg and doesn't vape as much as I do
I agree I had to start off with 36mg, and I can handle 24 and 18 but lower than that I crave ciggys. I have been vaping almost a year now, and have wanted to lower the nic, but even if I go all day without a vape, I grab the 36 or 24 just to make sure I don't go to the store.

I just go by ml's. If I vape 3ml in a day, then I am vaping well over a pack of smokes worth of nicotine. I crave it though, just not the carginogens anymore that ciggys used to do to me. I believe a ciggy has 1-3mg per smoke? So if I am a pack a day, thats 25-75 mg of nic. If I vape 36mg ejuice at 3ml a day, thats 108mg of nic. Way more than a pack of smokes, but it does the body good! At least for me anyways.

I got my brother a kit and liquid for xmas, but gave him the heads up two weeks prior so he could mentally prep. He had said he wanted to quit.....and has tried a few times without success. He's a pack a day guy. I ended up getting a range of 24-18 and a bit of 12 for before bed. He's been smoke free since dec. 26.

Got my dad a kit a few months ago and he does use it but still has a few real ones a day. Yet he's always smoked less that my brother. Ironically my plan has worked and now my dad is amazed my brother transitioned so "easily" and is now geared to toss away real ones at the end of the month.

My point is that it's different for everyone, but as a few have said I do think stronger liquid is definitely essential at the get go in order to ditch the real ones. It will happen for you if you want it, just takes a bit of time and mental prep. Good luck, I have no doubt you'll get there with a bit stronger liquid.

boy that's embarrassing  lol, got that one wrong, your right about it, not sure what I was thinking when I posted that. To much SEO and web building is making my mind go nuts >.> .
