to better understand the realm of temp control

I'm with Andria. I believe it is the future of vaping but I'm waiting and reading everything I can. I'm hoping something reasonably reliable will be available when I hit my first year in about a month. If not, I'll just wait a bit.

ipv D2 might just fit the bill. Can't wait to see a few reviews.

I have the SX Mini M class and could not ask for a nicer TC at the price I paid. I would still like a Low cost simple TC for knocking around. I'd like to keep the SX in nice condition.

smok pro m80 plus is not correct temp control. He means the real temp control devices where the device can sence you have a nickel build on it and it changes from wattage mode to Temp control M80 is manual.

Temp Control is just sensing the temperature of your nickel wire. And it reduces temp over and over to keep your coil from burning the cotton. Basically it sucks up all the juice on your cotton without burning it, no matter how many times you press the fire button. If you buy an iStick 40 TC, never build a nickel coil below .10 or the mod gets burning hot and feels like its about to blow up! iStick nailed temp control for newbies.. Smok supposedly got a new chip going into the m80's where it works like all the other TC mods. And is going to work where is senses the coil and you can no longer turn you wattage up and down. only the temperature.

But I do like the old temp control for m80's because it works with Kanthal and you could manually set it to a spot where it won't burn your cotton, but it wouldn't or won't do it ''for you'' like the real TC.

What I learned is that the best vape is this. Find a tank that works well. Huge juice channels (Goliath v1) and constantly floods your wicks, There as you can use wattage 1-100 + and it will NEVER burn your wicks and you get cooking vape with much flavor. Do not buy tanks with small juice holes (First RBA deck for Subtanks) look for the ones with HUGE juice channels. You won't care about TC any longer.

P.s. The Lemo 2 has the best deck for building large 30-26 gauge nickel coils for a tank. (If you build your own) WOrks fab.

i understand what your saying but from my experience i do feel its doing something, reason i say this is because i have 24mg juice that i just cant vape on any wattage..too much throat hit for me, but when i set it on temp mode at 500F its very smooth and easy..so im not sure how to chalk that one up with if the M80 is not true temp control

I have a DNA40 and a DNA40 clone and have done a bit of experimenting with them. Both boards give me a very similar vape experience.

If I set up my atty to easily handle say 30 watts (no dry hits), set the power to 30 watts and the temperature protection to where the mod will limit the power before I get a dry hit, I get the most consistent vape experience. I think of this as temperature protection. The vape is controlled by the power I set, the atty will handle the power if the wick doesn't run dry so dry hits from a mistake on my part are eliminated.

If I set up my atty to give me dry hits at 30 watts, set the power to 30 watts and the temperature protection to the temperature I want to vape at the wire will always hit the temperature I've set and the mod will throttle back the power to keep my temp setting. This is what I think of as temperature control. I find TC vaping with this hardware is not as consistent a vape as power controlled vaping so I stopped doing this. I did try to figure out how to get it to be more consistent, but I'm very comfortable with power control and didn't pursue it as long as I might have if I was not as comfortable with PC.

I've stopped using TP for my drippers now and only consider it for tanks that can sometimes run dry. There are also a lot of newer boards out there now that might be much better at TC, this is just my experience with what I've used.

My TC mod is a Snow Wolf. You set the wattage to limit total power and temp to limit total temp. I usually set min at about 50 watts and 435 degrees. That way, the mod makes no more than 50 watts heating up to temp, and then holds at 425 when it gets there.

I know. I used to think the m80 was real Temp Control too we belive it at first, until we use a real Temp Control device with great flavor. The m80 will burn your cotton so It can't be real temp control.

But we have all heard that before. Dont get me wrong. I love my m80.
