Greetings!

Got a question for you guys. (And girls ). There's a website that's selling a DIY e-juice cookbook for $4. It's a complete guide which includes detailed instructions, the best vendors, recipes, calculators, etc. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the website, so let's just say that it rhymes with "bestest heromizer.mom.

Is that resource for real, or am I better off just visiting this forum for hints, tips and tricks for making my own e-juice?

I'm like @PilotNY. I learned everything I know about DIY (what little that is) here on this forum, also. By the time a book is written, edited, proofed and printed, much of the information about flavorings and suppliers will be outdated. You can get all the current information right here.

I guess that it's not a bad idea to have a reference book to DIY, at least to use as a quick start. It can be an interesting gift to someone you know who don't DIY. Then, it all depends on its content... Volume calculations is not such a big deal. I know that many like to use calculators, but I think that it worth to learn how to do it manually. I like books anyway, but many of us are also writing their own notes about personal DIY mix, flavors, taste experience... sometime I add some drawings to illustrate ideas regarding tanks, builds coils or flavor combinations. I suppose that a good DIY ejuices book should be dynamic, also include coil build, wick specifics, tanks and mod characteristics and settings, all contributing to the final vaping taste experience. You certainly won't find in that book the resources and shared personal DIY experiences available here on ECF.

Do this reading before buying books.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine bases regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

I agree with most that has been posted. There is a plethora of info right here.
But if you think the book would be an asset; go for it. What's the big deal.
I've only been making juice for about 6 months and I learn as I go. My best advice would be watch what and how much you buy. It's very easy to get carried away especially if you have a personality like I do.
My first purchase was 2 liters of 100 mg nic from MFS with the fear of impending regs, well I vape 3 mg nic stuff so that works out to over 2,000 bottles of 30 mls. I probably only use 10 mls a day, so at this rate I've got enough for 40 years and I'm 65.
Flavors are another thing I think we can go overboard on, at least I did. My wife has brought to my attention that I have charged over $300 on flavors and it was easy. I bought 4 ounce bottles of TFA because it was such a good price on their site, ounce bottles from LorAnns, I must have at least 40 different flavors. Over time I now find myself always going back to just 2 of my mixes. I have become very proficient at making very exotic muffins on a regular basis to use some
of these flavors and appease my wife and treat my grandkids, so all is not lost.
To sum it up, DIY is a blast as is this whole regiment of vaping. Wicking, coiling, mixing, participating in our forum as I track my orders from the other side of the world.
My best advice ENJOY!!!
