Whew..so glad to read this thread. I thought maybe I was starting to go a bit..far. :D

I seriously make lists during boring meetings at work of combinations I'd like to try. I keep a notebook at the computer to write down random ideas inspired by reading on the web so I don't forget them. I limit myself to no more than 12 flavors in one session. This is after a whopping...two months...of DIY. I think I'm probably hopeless. I want to try EVERYTHING!

It's great because I am doing about 50/50 my own creations and other's recipes and this is like being able to go to any and all of the online vendors and get pretty much anything I want to try but without the huge price tag. Sure, I've had some bombs. I can honestly say though, it hasn't been any more than the bombs I ordered online and paid a whole lot more for. I'm putting in some startup money for sure, but no more than I would have been spending on ready made, and when I finally do settle down, I'll have ingredients for juice up to my eyebrows.

I mix samples in 10 mL. Firstly I don't want to fool with tiny measurements (I'm a nurse too and I STILL don't want to fool with tiny measurements) and secondly, if it turns out halfway decent, I have some to vape and some to stash and see how it steeps up.

Wonderland
I mix usually once a month in 90 ml batches for bases that for me are
Apple Candy
Grape Candy
Yellow Cupcake
Gummy Candy
Skittles (not every month)
Sweet & Tart
Strawberries & Creme
Bubblegum
I sometimes mix a 30 ml bottle of something special
Made a good
Milk & White Chocolate Cherry
Strawberries & Creme with Kiwi
I don't think you can ever have too many flavors or too much juice :)

The part that I have a problem with is I buy so many flavors at one time I begin to suffer from flavor over load. I have so many flavors to choose from that I can't make up my mind and so the bottles remain unopened sitting on a shelf or in my flavoring storage box. So when I do get a creative idea I start looking through hundreds of bottles and by the time I go through them all my creative idea has gone out of my head. Or my creative idea gets so muddied after looking through all those bottles that I just say "Ah Heck with it" and wind up mixing an old standard..

Compulsive here also.

I must have over 1000ml in 5-10-30ml bottles.
So what did I do Saturday............. Mixed another 9 bottles, 105ml.

I sometimes look at all the test batches I have and think to myself as I'm sorting through what to dump and what to keep " Hmm I wonder how this would taste if I poor this bottle into this bottle". I've done that quite a few times with stuff that was destined for the drain and wound up with something pretty good. It kinda makes it impossible to reduce my large amount of test samples and get organized.

Hello all my name is Troy and I'm a compusave mixer as well.
I've been DIY my juice now for the last few months, I haven't gotten crazy with my mixing up until a couple of weeks ago. When I got done with the starter kit of pg/vg that i bought months ago.
been mixing up small 5ml samples but have found with my RDA dripping 5ml is gone in bout 3 or 4 hrs. So now I've gone to making 10ml samples, with a few 5ml samples that I want to steep.
made a 5ml sample of TFA strawberrie, and cheesecake with graham crust that steeping. btw go easy on the cheesecake alittle goes along way.
made a green apple/pear that to die for IMHO :)
just made a 10ml bottle of juicy peach/necterine with bout 4 drops of double kiwi to give it a tart taste. soo far soo good.

I use 1mL insulin syringes. They measure up in .01 increments. Also I am a nurse and measure doses like that on a daily basis so it is nothing new to me lol.

Most syringes are +/- 1% at 80% of their volume for sizes up to 2cc. It's the reason that pipettes are used in labs as syringes are just not that precise in small volumes. As you're aware, I'm sure, you would only tolerate that type of error possibility if the dosage was greater than the possible error. No big deal to have +/- 0.01ml difference on 0.50ml injection (a 2% difference potential) but it certainly would be on an injection of 0.10ml (where that same +/- 0.01ml difference would be a 10% difference potential).

hmmm as i sat here reading these post my left eye slowly surveyed 23 30ml bottles of juice while in the back of my mind calculating the 9 different all day vapes waiting to be enjoyed in the coming days , i ponder the thought that 23 bottles cannot be compulsive if all will be used when their time comes , just like the 118 flavors sitting in line in my storage bin waiting to be call upon when their service is needed , i dont think baskin robbins with their 31 flavors were really giving it all they got , i have forgotten more flavor combinations than they market , compulsive ....never everything has a purpose at some time or another i for one will be mixing for the need of mixing for that i cannot deny........oh what time is our next meeting danny.......i'll be there
