So, its going to be my first setup and I had done a lot of research and reading on how to setup my rba and oxidizing the wick when I ran across the Peter K method. My question is should I start out this way, is it going to be harder for a beginner than the standard method. Even if it is a little trickier wouldn't I benefit from using this 'superior' setup.

Thanks

My suggestion would be to try both. See which method suits you better.

Start out with the Petar K method....because once you start oxidizing meshes it seems to me it becomes a crutch and then you depend on it to get a working set up. With the Petar K method you will never wonder if you oxidized the mesh enough. The only problem with the petar K method is you have to be very precise....but once set up properly it is the best vape possible with a genesis.

i think there is two parts to this question. one is, do i use the drill bit method for the coils? and two, do i ox or un-ox. now if you want to go for the un-ox method, i believe you must use the drill bit. if you want to oxidize your wicks, you can still use the drill bit method. when i started i thought it was a must to oxidize, didnt think it could work with out doing it. so i may not change my methods, because things are good. but i have done the drill bit thing and it is good, but i dont use it always, i find that because i only make minimal wraps(sometimes 3/4 wrap, sometimes 4/5 wrap) it just takes to much time. if you prefer more wraps, it is easier to use the drill bit. anyways thats me, it does seem like the un-ox method should be more efficient.

this.

i started out this way it took work and patience but the results will blow you away and gets much easier each time you do it until it takes just minutes. and the taste is superior IMO

I've used the drill bit method almost exclusively, since I started with gennys. Today, received a new Cobra in the mail; so I decided, just for the heck of it, I'd set it up by just wrapping the coil on the wick, in place, instead of using the drill bit. End result was, it worked perfectly. I just had to do a couple minor coil bumps, and that was it. In thinking about it afterward, I concluded that one thing the drill bit method teaches, is correct wire tension on the wick. When you use the drill bit method, you realize that the wire needs to only lightly touch the wick, in order to work properly. I think that many beginner problems occur, as a result of wrapping coils too tight, and biting into the mesh. For this reason, I think everybody should at least try the drill bit method, even if you decide to direct wrap later, instead. It teaches light coil to wick tension.

cobra, very nice. you know my favorite has always been my DID, i had recieved an ac-9 a few weeks ago and now it has to be my favorite. my DID has taken a back seat. it must be just a better design, because there is a subtle difference in vape compared to the DID. i wonder if you will find the cobra in time better then your DID. hope you like it

I'm still breaking the new wick in. So far, I like it. I love the look. Beautifully made. It's a little stiffer draw than my DiD and ZAPs. ZAP, of course, are known for a pretty airy draw. I'm also getting used to the Bliss. At first, I didn't care for the look. But I've come to like it more and more. I want to get an AC9, whenever they come back in stock. I seem to be slowly replacing my Chinese knock offs with various high end RBAs.

i love the cobra, after trying a few geni i didnt like the draw on them till i got the cobra, once you get used to it it works great. and it is decievng the big ol cap is nowhere near as heavy as it looks, and the drip tip is light as a plastic one sometimes i have to check to make sure it really is metal lol

now you have to run over to phiniac and get a custom tank on it! i have the fire breathing dragon on mine

I use the Petar K w/ my 28ga Kanthal, occasionally w/ the 30ga, almost never w/ the 32ga coils. re: oxidization - I torch the mesh before rolling, fold the outer edge & roll, then torch one last time. I don't quench, nor juice burn any more. I'm good to go ~90% of the time, the other ~10% only takes some coil nudging.

I use the drill bit method to wrap the coils, I want repeat ability and precision(close), I oxidize the wick after rolled to "almost" the right size, I want it just a fuzz to fat, the start rolling down to the size needed to all but fall in oxidizing a little more as I go. I'm checking the ohms with the wick out and it had better match with the wick in or it's not right yet. It use to be hard now it's a breeze

you would definately like the ac-9, it is nice for sure. i guess i always prefered a tighter draw, like the standard did. the aga-t is close. when i ordered the ac, i had to buy an extra top cap because the standard was said to be really airy, im glad i did because i tried the standard cap and didnt care to much for it. you really need to take some long slow pulls. and i find the bigger hole has not as much flavor, could be my imagination though.

Now that I have my did clone down I cannot wait to grt my ac9 when the next batch comes out!

i had a did clone for about a day, didnt like it to much compared to my regular did. i found it just to small, to tight to work on. if you got the clone down the ac-9 will be a breeze.
