To twisp or not to twisp (eGo)

I was at the twisp kiosk at v&a yesterday and found out that they are offering a 25% discount on their eGo starter kit + 1 free liquid - if you bring in your an old ecig kit (which is easy because I have 6 dead kits!)

So thats R750 + 3 month warranty.. Tempting!

Anyone out there bought a twisp ego? Whats your experience been like so far? I had a few vapes at the kiosk - bit worried about the slightly weak throat hit. What atty is on the ego?

The Twisp eGo is more than likely a renamed Joye eGo and i find them really good compared to what else we get, R750.00 is a hefty price, although you are getting a bottle of juice which is worth R60.00. As for TH it all depends on what juice was in the sample. The eGo can run off a few Atty's The mega Atty, 510 or a 901 with an adaptor. In SA its about the best bang for your buck.
What were you using before??

I would agree with this but my Shuttle came with the Hugh cone Atomizer, and just for an update they now have the Joye cone LR atty's in stock and when used with the 900mAh bat are incredible.

Hi, I've tried all of the above from Walter at eciggies.... I got my first eGo in July. So I will 3rd the eciggies/eGo Fanclub.

My favorite is the Mega 510 atty, (The long, thin one). Also got the LR 306 recently - If you like warm vapor, you will like the LR306/Driptip combo. BUT you'll gave to use it without the eGo cone.

I also received the eGo USB PT battery yesterday - I still have to give it a go....

Happy Vaping

I too am part of the eCiggies/eGo fanclub, and am extremely happy with Walter's service! I have had my eGo USB PT battery for some time and have worked it really hard and found it awesome! ALthough I don't use it at my PC, I keep it exclusively for use in the car as we spend a lot of time at Addo National Park and drive around pretty much from gate opening at 6am until closing at 6:30pm with only a small break over luchtime... So, this battery gets used constantly for hours on end, often in very dusty conditions - and it performs flawlessly! As I have 5 other batteries for normal daily use, it will [hopefully] be some time before I have to replace them but I will likely replace them only with USB passthrough batteries because I think they are marvelous :)

To add - I use normal cartomizers from eCiggies and can assure you that they can withstand some punishment. Some of my cartomizers, empty but used and without the condom covers, got thrown down, one by one onto the rock hard ground below, from the top of a fairly tall tree - and they are still working fine.

Bmad, are u using the Mega 510 cartomisers?

How long between top offs?

I just use the ordinary 510 cartomizers at R20 each - they work fine for me.... Even after getting the eGo I was battling with atty's - I always seemed to get a burned taste, which I simply can' t stand ... and seemed to be fiddling and fighting with the thing more than vaping as a result. SInce trying cartomizers its been pretty much plain sailing and thats all I use.
How long between top off's - I don't know ... don't take notice. I have a lanyard from Walter and my eGo is permanently hanging around my neck, and I vape all the time. I think it varies depending on the cartomizer - some seem to vape better than others after refilling. Sometimes I refill a pile then just swop when the one I am using gets weak, sometimes I top off and use the same one all day ... or anything in between.... At a guess, on average I would say about an hour ... but that is really a guess. SOmetimes I just remove and refill from bottom then continue using ... sometimes I refill with condom method, either top or bottom, somtimess by dripping drops into the bottom and sometimes I just top off by a few drops or more straight into the top .... can't say I have found any one way better than another.

Tx Barkingmad - I've tried almost everything from a lot of suppliers in South Africa.

I just cannot make the cartos work for me. I'm sticking to dripping now with atomisers and eGo batteries. I currently have a LR 306 atty - it actually performs really well - will re-order 2 or so before Xmas. The 510 LR tasted burnt to me as well.

I see we are very close with number of posts. I'm curious who will run away?

Yes, isn't it interesting how we all find different things work best for us :) Never say never, but I really can't see myself going back to atty's. Doug, the warmness took a little getting used to, although using a metal drip tip on the cartomizers, I certainly don't find the vapour to be 'hot' - just a sort of ' gentle warmth'. I can't say that I find any waste when filling [barring the few times I have accidentally used the other end of the condom and failed to notice that the plug was still in it - haha -
I did try dripping and while I found that preferable to the cartridges, I also found it decidedly impractical, and still, although not as badly, picked up a burned taste. I do have a few atty's for if I feel like dripping somewhere along the way ... but have not done so yet. I really do love the cartomizers and have been surprised at how well they last [as in how many times they can be refilled]. The only thing I haven't had success with is washing them. I only tried one, and ended up throwing it away so have been reluctant to try again...

I have been using the Stick exclusively for the past 15 months...started on the Twisp (Joye/Janty V2) and then the Joye V3. Have experienced continous button problems with the V3 but stuck with it since the functionality was ideal. Then......I picked up an eGo yesterday. Bought the cone atomiser kit and the dealer swapped one of the standard batteries for a USB battery kit and I am blown away. I haven't enjoyed vaping so much since I first tried the stick (the standard eGo atty even beats the Stick with a LR atty, which I once loved!)

I am having to get used to using a larger PV once more, but I reckon with the lanyard and USB battery, I am set for 2011 and beyond :D

Yup, e-cig tech is finally leaving the infancy stage and entering the young adult phase. Reliability and enjoyment of the Joye eGo is 1000% better than my Stick or M201 and the charge and vape capability of the USB battery is the cherry on top. If I just unplug and hit the road, I know I can count on a minimum of 5 hours charge, if I give a full charge, my 2 month old USB battery still gives me the same 8.5 hours I got from day 1. My first Mega atomiser only lasted 2 weeks, mainly I reckon because being new to it, I didn't recognise the early warning signs of overheating. My second Mega atomiser has two months of intense usage on the clock and is still going strong. Even the wadding last forever.

This is how vaping is meant to be enjoyed, without all the fuss and bother.
